Small shop area plus intro video presentation on how Weta Studios came to be. The workshop tour is amazing - highly recommend it.

A MUST for Lord of the Rings fans - this is where all the real magic happens! Go behind the scenes at Weta Workshop, the wizards behind the make-up and special effects of the films!

Such a cool place to see whether you are a fan of movies or simply sightseeing. Very friendly staff...and you can often run into famous people.

If you're a fan of Peter Jackson's films, this is worth a visit. A small exhibition of props and costumes from Weta Workshop, the special effects studio behind Lord of the Rings, Avatar, etc. It's a bit far from the main sights of Wellington and easiest to reach by car. The display could easily be several times larger, but it's located next to the actual studio and space is at a premium. Photography's not allowed, but you do watch a short film about the history of Weta and get a small peek behind the scenes.
