Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure parks are a "do not miss" area of Central Florida. A great place for young and older family members. Your teenagers will have a great time also. This Theme Park is in two parks so plan a day for each part. the Wizarding World of Harry Potter park is located inside the Islands of Adventure area. Get to it early as it usually crowds up. If you loved the Harry books and movies you must see this park. It is everything you imagined and more.Recommended for:

**WARNING** this review contains certain spoilers and are intended only to enhance your trip. Enjoy muggles!
Get a-head start!
*Rumors have it that they close the park at noon, so you should arrive at least 20 minutes before the park actually opens (approx: 8:30am). They will make you take the long way to get to the park unless you're a resort member, but as the old sayin' goes "early bird gets the worm"
*GO TO THE CASTLE FIRST! There's a ride inside called the Forbidden Journey and you will fly with Harry Potter. *WARNING*: If you get motion-sickness I would take something before you hop-on. *Ladies: Do not wear a dress or a skirt as there is a lot of movement on this ride and your photo will be taken. We wouldn't want to flash the world after-all
*The Forbidden Journey Ride is SO AWESOME! But I would warn youngin's (age 10 and under) from ridding it as they make certain scenes from the movie quite realistic. It's a FAST and dark ride.
*Wait time can be as long as 2 hours.
*Three Broomsticks is popular fills up FAST! So, if you don't mind eating lunch a tad early (we went in at 10:30) you won't have to wait.
*Entrees: Fish and chips is a good deal, and the chicken/ribs combo is a steal for park food as well (comes with corn on the cob and slaw, methinks )
*Butterbeer: So, after asking virtually everyone who worked at the park about the "free unlimited butterbeer" there is no such thing. What you can do instead is get an unlimited butterbeer glass for $9, methinks, and get refills of butterbeer for $3/$4 or any fountain drink for $1.
*Slush vs. Regular: Personally I like the regular, because the slush will give you a brain freeze almost instantly and costs $1 more.
*Hogsmead: Attached to the 3 Broomsticks is the butterbeer bar. You can wait 20+ minutes at the butterbeer cart or you can wait a few minutes in the bar.
The Shops: Olivanders Wand Shop, HoneyDukes, Zonko's Joke Shop
*Olivanders: They only allow 20 people enter the brief 7 minute show at a time so be prepared to wait a LONG time. I waited 1.5 hours. They will pick a cute kid at the front to assist in the demonstration, but only one. Parents be warned! Pray that it's not your kid because you will basically be forced to fork over $30 for the wand.
*HoneyDukes: Chocolate frogs and Everyflavor Jelly Beans are $10.
*Zonko's Joke Shop: Basic Joke ShopRecommended for:

For those of you, young and old, who really love the story of this young wizard, will love this park. It is like reading the book and seeing yourself walking around Hogsmead, and as a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry!
We loved the specialty sweets shops and looking at the wands in Olivanders's. Amazing!!

I had been looking forward to going to the Wizarding World ever since I heard they were building it. The ride was great, loved the butterbeer (both kinds) and just enjoyed all the details. Nice photo op with the the conductor on Platform 9 3/4 too :)

BEST! If you're a Harry Potter nerd like I am, you will love this place. It's the closest you're going to get to Hogwarts on this side of the world. They did an excellent job in capturing the feel of the movies and books. The souvenirs are great, too!Recommended for:

Heard so much, anticipated so much, expected so much. After all that, when I set foot on the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, it still exceeded my wildest imaginations. The recreation of the Harry Potter World - Hogsmeade and Hogwarts castle was uncanny and surreal. Everything was meticulously done to perfection, I'm reluctant to report my findings because it'll spoil the fun of discovering each and every familiar detail from the Harry Potter books. Remember the fighting chess pieces? How about the Extendable ears? The Chocolate Frogs?
Oh Butterbeer, how do I love thee? A pleasure which can't be passed (it's really non-alcoholic and kid-friendly) and can be enjoyed at one of the butterbeer carts or inside the Three Broomsticks.
There are 3 rides, the Forbidden Journey which doubles as a wondrous walking tour through the Hogswarth castle (also done exquisitely to the every last detail) and an indoor ride with animatics seamlessly combined with physical props. GREAT. The Dragon challenge - twin rollercoasters that soars up in the sky, one of the best thrill rides in the park. And the Flight of the Hippogriff is a more family friendly rollercoaster.
Before you leave, don't forget to send yourself or loved ones something from the Owl Post with the official stamp of the Wizarding World.Recommended for:

This place is amazing even if you are not fans of Harry Potter. The rides are fantastic. We hear it gets pretty busy but we visit in the low season and, in our experience, were on and off rides with no wait. Like most Orlando area parks, get in when the parks open to avoid the crowds.

Everything made with perfection, the castle, the houses, the scenarium, amazing. When you enter here, you really want to buy all the Harry Potter stuff (and I'm definitely not a big fan)

Loved it! Best for harry potter nerds. You really feel like you're in Hogsmead. Not a lot of harry potter rides but the forbidden journey ride was pretty good. The 'flight of the hippogriff' was super short. Lasted less than a minute! The size of this section in Islands of Adventure wasn't that big but still enjoyable. Lines get very long later in the day and the shops get very crowded as well, so you should get to this part of the park first, then make your way to other rides later.

Husband is a big big fan of Harry Potter and has read the series several times over. He keeps saying I would love the books, but thought it would be easier to experience it here instead. Amazingly realistic surroundings; reminded me of the movies. They even serve the "themed" foods like Butterbeer. We went there during opening month. Crazy busy. Hint: stay at a resort hotel and you get there by boat taxi AND get in the park 1 hour earlier.

Its, so, cool! Everything you've dreamed of, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is nothing short of magic. Authentically themed as Hogsmeade, snow on the roof, wand shops, and even the opportunity to buy, yup you guessed it, HP merch! Enjoy dressing up as your favorite character (Ron Weasley cough cough) and waving a wand in the air.
Butterbeer is only sold in this particular section of the park, no where else in the word. It's very very important that you note this in order to be sure you have at least two before you head out, it's crack disguised as butterscotch cream.

As a HP fan, I give it the 3, but really the lines were LONG. Place was CROWDED. and I didn't get to taste the BUTTERBEER!!! Sadness! Went on the main attraction ride and it was pretty good. Just wish I could have been here when its not so crowded!
