Organic, yummy food is the draw at this Vista deli run by a co-operative that prides itself on communal values and an ethos of love. Originally opened in Chattanooga, the California outpost signaled a homecoming for many of the owners.Recommended for:

A unique place definitely worth a visit! Fresh and delicious food and an atmosphere that is hard to describe. Reminded me of my time in rural western Sonoma County in all the right ways! The Yellow Deli is open 24 hours 6 days a week! A great place for a quick bite or the perfect place to hunker down for a few hours and study.Recommended for:

Very unique, eclectic place - after hearing a lot of "interesting" reviews about it, I was hesitant to try it. But then my girlfriends insisted on me going there because the food was delish, while it is the people who are just of a different nature. That is definitely true - I don't know much about their culture, but I know it's a "new age religious movement" (not quite considered a cult) and they own an organic farm. As such, the menu is all natural, vegetarian/vegan-friendly, and organic (of course). I had a turkey sandwich, and while I didn't think much of it - to be honest it did not have much flavor - I also tried my friends' food. My friends' orders included: white bean soup, which was extremely tasty; "the green drink" which looked like grass mulch but tasted sweet like one of those Naked smoothies; and an all-natural Cola, which was tasty but definitely took some getting used to. Apparently they make their own tap root beer, too. I love the organic, natural theme - and the staff are extremely kind (though admittedly slightly socially awkward), but the prices are a tad high. I would, however, definitely eat there again.Recommended for:

This place is ADORABLE! And, pretty much everything on the menu is good. Plan to wait for a bit, since the food takes awhile. They're open 24 hours a day except weekends and have free wifi. Try the banana milk -- It's amazing!
