Thistle Hotel is a typical large scale hotel set on a classic, recently restored, Art-Deco style property built in the early 20th Century with 692 rooms that includes superior, deluxe and suite type accommodations along with 18 spacious conference rooms. The main lobby with its striking golden granite floors, paint-glass ceilings, and magnificent dimensions are visibly imposing, though rather cold and characterless. Most double rooms are functional that is roomy, tidy and offer standard amenities. The newly renovated ‘Marmor Grill’ is a fair option offering traditional English flavors made from locally sourced produce, while the chic Glenn Miller’s Bar and the Lobby are convenient facilities to enjoy a drink along with small bites throughout the day/night. The reception desk is generally friendly, though slow during check-in/out hours — a classic dilemma for large hotels. The property is located on a commercial corner of Marylebone, just off of Marble Arch Station, Oxford Street and Hyde Park. It is good for business and leisure travelers.

The Thistle Marble Arch has an art deco feeling to it, with a coffee bar in the reception area, lots of marble and 1920s fonts. The service is extremely sweet and accommodating, and the rooms are large for central London. What sticks with me about this place is the contrast between its forbidding brick facade and tending towards the opulent interior. The only downside is that you have to pay extra for Wifi in the room, although it's available free in the office room.Recommended for:

I stayed at the Marble Arch Thistle for a networking and job conference. I wanted to stay in the hotel where it was being held for convenience. Unfortunately, it wasn't what i was hoping for.
The room was okay, but a bit shabby to say the least. I had double windows, in that I had windows that would open to windows that opened to a landing that overlooked Oxford Street. The noise at night kept many of my fellow conference-goers awake. I had jet-lag and didn't really sleep, but the sirens and traffic noise were constant. I also had guests on my floor who thought it was funny to run down the hallway at 3AM laughing and screaming, knocking on doors and leaving trash all over the floor.
The breakfast was probably the best thing with a good spread and a nice dinning area. The elevators are painfully slow when it's busy since they stop at every single floor.
I was disappointed since I had stayed in a comparable hotel last year with much better amenities and nicer rooms for a similar price.
