Tibidabo’s amusement park is a family day out with a difference – the backdrop of stunning cityscape views, stretching right to the Mediterranean horizon. Laid out on different levels of the mountain, all the traditional funfair rides are there, from flying chairs and dodgems to a truly vertiginous roller coaster ride. Tickets are on the pricey side but then again, ...

A lot of the guide books I read spoke of Sagrad Cor as a gaudy, kitsch type of cathedral that wasn't worth much of a visit, but I happened to really like it. We went all the way up to the roof (which I absolutely recommend for amazing views) and thought it was just lovely.

Suggesting a trip to a mountain-top observatory for a good night out may seem a tad bizarre, but bear with me here. Throughout the summer months, the Fabra Observatory offers ‘dinner under the stars’ – where for around €70 you’re treated to an astronomically inspired slap-up meal on the front viewing deck, surrounded by what are arguably the best views ...

If you visit just one museum with your children in Barcelona, make it this one (my Catalan friends with kids are there so often it’s become a standing joke). CosmoCaixa is an engaging, hands-on learning experience for both adults and children, designed to get you thinking and interacting directly with the phenomena of science. Stir up a sandstorm, contemplate the ...

Park Güell is a architectural park on top of the hill of El Carmel. If you are into arts, this is the perfect half day trip. The park ist designed by Antoni Gaudi and is UNESCO world heritage for reason. Beautiful mosaic buildings like a little wonderland. Don't miss the "litte dragon" that you will find on almost every postcard. ...

By day Las Ramblas is a combination of park and open air market. By night it's lined with hookers who literally harass you (if you're a guy) as you walk down the street.

It's hard to move in here, as this seems to be one of the most popular places in Barcelona. Yes, you can find some good prices here, but trying to move through the crowd may wear your patience thin.

I was here on invitation from the local tourist authority. We had 'olympic games' in the stadium. It is awesome to be down there and see yourself surrounded by thousands of (empty in my case) chairs, and hear the your voice echoing in it. I cannot imagine what it is if this is filled to the top with screaming supporters.

This Gaudi creation is a large multifamily residence taking up the entire corner o f Carrer Pronvenca and Passeig de Gracia. It has a mesmerizing undulating shape and sumptuous windows that look positively voluptuous. I haven't been inside yet, but I just love to look at it.

Didn't do much here except pass by quickly and took a view and a snapshot of the house facade which had impressive balcony railings looking like masks. Gaudi will never fail to impress you, but after visiting La Pedrera, we discovered it wasn't worth to revisit Casa Batllo comparing to the previous visit which was satisfying.

One of the most emblematic sights of the city, Barcelona’s Magic Fountain provides great early-evening entertainment – and the best bit is, it’s completely buckshee. In what sounds potentially kitsch but is actually really cool, the fountain and its satellite fountain friends skyrocket to remarkable heights, shape-shifting and changing colour in time to the music and leaving even the most ...

I haven't made it inside, yet. The museum offers free entrance on Sunday afternoons (after three I believe). I arrived around four and the line to get in was all the way down the street, hundreds of people waiting to get in in the rain no less. So I've decided to go back another day when it is less busy ...

Как и в большинстве испанских городов, в Барселоне, конечно, есть своя Площадь Испании. Но здесь она мягко говоря не главная. Куда более величественная тут площадь Каталонии. Каталонцы всячески подчеркивают, что они не испанцы.
