At last some competition for the Explora, long considered to be the highest end hotel in the area. An hour's drive from Puerto Natales, or five from Punta Arenas, the Tierra enjoys unbroken views of the Paine mountains and high levels of comfort at a fraction of the prices demanded by the Explora. The owner also has a property in the Atacama Desert, again competing head on with Explora's hotel there.
