This review is for the CAFE, for breakfast. The motel portion of the place looks really local, but didn't get to check it out...

Yummy breakfast, especially if you go with the totally local loco moco. My stomach was feeling funny the night before and I was really worried that would have ruined my day, but as soon as I had some of that yummy loco moco, everything was soothed.

My friends ordered the pancakes with mac nut and pancakes with pineapples and both were pretty good too.

I will definitely go back again.

A 20 minute drive, at most, from the property to a home style cooking restaurant.
    The banana pancakes are onolicous.

This cafe is old-school, local Hawaii at its best. Ono grinds on the menu includes, of course, mac-nut pancakes, but also loco moco, Portuguese sausage with eggs, and other filling stuff all served by no-nonsense waitresses rolling coffee carts and dressed in retro diner wear.

The motel is cheap, but very low-budget on amenities and modern conveniences, plus the roadside setting is not exactly pretty. Skip it.

Tip Top is the place locals go for breakfast. Formica tables, quick service, clean and comfortable. Pancakes! Pancakes! and Ox Tail Soup.

Whoa! Talk about a mash up! In the same space there's the lobby of a motel, bakery, japanese restaurant, and a cafe! We visited one morning just for breakfast so this review only applies to the cafe.

My breakfast buddies raved about the loco moco (I didn't order it myself). I had the macadamia nut pancake and pineapple pancake. The pancakes were well made -- fluffy and light and big. The other breakfast stuff was just standard fare. The thing that sticks out was the homemade passion fruit - guava jam. That was quite delicious and unique.

Local restaurant, excellent for their oxtail soup and macademia pancakes.
