Tipitina's is synonymous with Musical History... Professor Longhair is a primary player in changing the face of music!!! The song he wrote the club is named after Tipitina's has a flavor all it's own... Funk, Blues, Rock, Zydeco and good ole Nawlins Ragtime... Tipitina's Is New Orleans!!!

Tip’s was founded in 1977 as a neighborhood juke joint where the massively influential performer, composer, and pianist Professor Longhair would play in his final years. The club, named for one of Longhair’s most enigmatic recordings, has since welcomed many of the Crescent City’s most beloved artists onto their main stage, including such acts as Dr. John, the Neville Brothers, Cowboy Mouth, Galactic, Better Than Ezra, and Trombone Shorty. Tip’s is kind of the local proving ground for burgeoning musicians, as the club has survived decades of change, and if you can draw a crowd here and leave them entertained when you play your final note, your odds of musical success start looking more and more sustainable.

While I didn't get a chance to attend (yet), Tipitina’s (often referred as Tips) is highly venerated among music fans alike as a venue to hear local and nationally renowned musicians perform live.Recommended for:Nightlife Lovers

One of the most historic and classic music venues in America. Try and see a local band there and you won't regret it. Was fortunate enough to see Michael Franti and Spearhead play a show there all night 3 years ago.
