Tivoli Lodge, with its grand European-style architecture set amidst the white-peaked beauty of the Rocky Mountains, offers exceptional accommodations in a town known for its luxury and sophistication. The 62-room hotel offers warm, mountain-chic decor, including large indoor and outdoor hot tubs and fireplaces in some rooms. Ask for a mountain tower room if possible--the octagonal lodgings offer spectacular views.

Popular for skiiers, this family-owned lodge is still a wonderful place for the summer, with easy access to the dance and music festivals, farmers' market, and outdoor sports the area offers. Tivoli has been around since 1968 and one can see why.

I alway love staying here. The staff is always friendly and remembers your name. The rooms are big and clean. There are two hot tubs outside which are perfect after an long day of skiing. They also provide delicious chocolate chip cookies and hot chocolate and tea after skiing. Their breakfast in the morning is always a good option to fuel you for a long day of skiing with omelets, waffles, egg scrambles, potatoes, and a continental breakfast. Don't forget to pay attention to Speed, the dog!

Small hotel near the Golden Peak ski lift, completely rebuilt a few years ago. Loved staying there, it is a small hotel, local owners and wonderful atmosphere and you can easily walk to the main part of the Vail Village. It was fun staying there and enjoying the nightlife in Vail. The snow wasn't that good this past year, but it was fun. Looking forward to going back this next winter.

The staff will tell you that Speed, is in charge of this place. A chocolate lab’, this resident mascot belongs to the owning family, The Laziers. To see Speed check out the lobby, the bar and other public spaces, you can believe this. When finished his security check he waits for someone to push the #5 button on the elevator for him. Family members are hands on, too, and will come down to breakfast ($9.95 - $14.95) and chat with guests, giving them insiders’ tips on Vail. Circa 1962, this is one of the first properties here and Laziers are the original owners. Consequently, it has mountain lodge appeal, particularly in the lobby and bar with its taxidermy, but updating is needed like in the older, basic guest rooms and around the hot tubs. (Know that the Tivoli closed April 16, 2012 and will reopen Memorial Day weekend (May 25). It closes again October 15 until Nov. 9.
