    Amherst

Amherst is a dumpy little town that's mostly propped up by the UB campus there. There's not much selection in decent hotels and it's mostly chain stores and restaurants, seemingly.

I think the Niagara Falls on the side of Canada has better scenery than that in the US portion. Was able to visit this twice with my late parents and it was simply awesome. Wish I can return again.

Nothing can quite compare to seeing and feeling the power of the water going over the Falls. It is a must see both during the day to take it the entire splendor and at night with the lights dancing off the falling water.

A great city to visit, with all the different types of Museum and Historical sites to visit in and the surround areas. Plus it is the gateway to Niagara Falls.

This is a photogenic old town. Lots of old wooden buildings to photograph. Multitude of curio shops to walk in. A good way to spend an afternoon / evening. Best to leave car a bit outside the city in a parking lot and walk the half a mile to city.
