Top Pot Doughnuts, despite its reputation as Seattle's best doughnut chain, was a wee bit overhyped. The doughnuts lacked the sugary flavor and was kind of dry. I like the retro decor though.Recommended for:

Delicious doughnuts, but being a block from my apartment could be dangerous. Does not having a car up here and walking everywhere offset the calories? I had the chocolate covered Bavarian cream and the family had the raspberry glazed yeast-raised doughnuts. All were excellent.

my mouth waters when i think of this place... easily the best doughnuts i've ever had. unfortunately they are only located in the greater seattle area. featured on the food network, they use a cake dough with high quality ingredients as their base so they have a firmer cake like consistency. but not sickly sweet like krispy kreme. all flavors are good, but i particularly like old fashioned, maple bar, and chocolate cake. would def recommend making a trip if you're in seattle.
