Tortilla Cafe

210 7th St Se, #1, Washington, DC 20003
2 reviews

Excellent local Salvadorian restaurant in the heart of Eastern Market. The food is very good and the prices are very reasonable. The only downside is that it closes down pretty early so it isn't really an option for dinner. Nevertheless, for lunch it is a great option

    Eastern Market

    0.05 mi from Tortilla Cafe
    21 reviews

Located in the center of the Capital Hill neighborhood, the Eastern Market is Washington D.C.’s best place for people to shop in the food and art market. They hold community events, but the weekends are the best time to visit because this is when everyone comes out with homemade food, crafts, and art from local markets and farms.

Not every traveler knows that you can enter the Capitol Building at any time during the office hours, stop by your state's Representative's or Senator's office, have a bite to eat in the downstairs cafeteria and join a guided tour of the building. The Library has more than 150 million items, and not all of them are books! The sound recordings are my favorite, but there are also photographs, maps, sheet music and motion pictures. I especially love the Main Reading Room -- beautiful and awe-inspiring.

The building itself is lovely, but watching the Supreme Court in action is the best! Oral arguments before the Justices are open to the public. When the Court is in session, there's a “three minute” line if you just want to take a peek.

Art and color reclaimed this 138 year old building nestled in Southwest DC; two amazing artists painted the Exterior (HENSE - ATL) and Interior (MEGGS - AUS) of the building but there is still quite a bit to do... But it is a start in a neighborhood that could use some sprucing up. The gallery has ambitious plans. I can't ...

I recently had the opportunity to visit a few Senate offices as part of a work trip, and the building is gorgeous - certainly nicer than the House offices. There is a cool modern art sculpture in the main lobby, but the BEST part of the Senate building is the frozen yogurt shop near the downstairs cafeteria. Priorities, people.
