Helpful and friendly staff at this backpacker hostel with dorm, sigle, doubles, etc available. Good information about the sites and local places to eat. Located convenient to the train station.

My friends and I stayed for two nights at this hostel---which is more like a motel than a "hostel". The first night we crammed in 6 of us in one room. Yep, it was tight but when we only needed a place to sleep for about $12USD/person, it was perfect. We shared a common hallway restroom that evening. Not bad but if you get the eebie-jeebies about shared bathrooms, this option isn't for you.
The second night, my friend and I moved into a double room (Japanese Private Room) that had our own private bathroom. It was SUPER cute and was the size of decent motel back in the states. Charming tatami mats covered the floors and the beds were floor-futons. At about $25USD/person, it was a "splurge" but definitely worth it.
The common areas and bedrooms were nicely decorated---modest but warm. Everything was super clean and safe. The staff was friendly and very helpful--especially in helping us procure some bikes to rent for the day. Tour Club also gets extra points for being so close to the JR Station.
I HIGHLY recommend this spot for travelers on a budget!
