Perhaps next to Big Ben, the Tower Bridge is perhaps the most Iconic symbol of the city of London. It is often mistaken, especially by Yanks, as the London Bridge, perhaps due to the nitwit Yanks remembrance of their childhood nursery rhymes. The old London bridge that was falling down in that kindergarten tune rhyme was sold and shipped to of all places, Lake Havasu, Nevada.
The new London Bridge is actually the next bridge up across the Thames from the Tower Bridge. The Tower bridge was built just before the run of the 20th century in the 1890s, and is about 200 feet high and about 800 feet wide.
Not big, just Iconic, no matter what you call it.
It will be even more Iconic, as 5 huge Olympic rings will be hanging from it for the London Olympic Games this summer, 2012.

One of London's major constructions - worth a walk across, it is unique and still a remarkable creation. Oozes a London a few centuries old.

It's an awesome outdoor activity that's free! It costs money to go up into the towers, but it's awesome just walking across, taking pictures (the evening with the lights is really beautiful), and exploring the other side of the Thames!

You should not only look at it, walk on it, but really visit it. As this is also a museum you can stroll through and find our how it was build and how it works. And the view on the top floors is also nice.

It is a beautiful and well preserved piece of architecture and of the city's history. You can see it right off the Tower of London, by the river.

Everyone thinks this is London Bridge, but it's not. It IS beautiful and historic, and one of the more atmospheric places to cross the Thames.

The first time I visited London and got to the Tower of London, it was the only time I learned that was the famous " London bridge" lol. There is a museum inside worth a visit.
