Such a cool place to stay when you are in Portland. It is away from downtown so not the most convenient location for exploring the city. Nonetheless this place was soo cool. Its an old elementary school that has been converted into a hotel. Administrative and rec space has been converted into restaurants, bars and a movie theater (free movies ...

    The Nines, Portland

    Hotel Class:
3.27 mi from Townshend's Alberta Street Teahouse
    25 reviews

The Nines is a really cool Retro Glam Hotel located above Macy's within the historic Meier & Frank Building. Our room was located on the 9th Floor and was on the inside of the Hotel facing the Urban Farmer Atrium. Maybe a room looking outside would have been better, but the trifecta of a well sound-proofed room, light-blocking curtains, and ...

One of my favourite places to stay in Portland. Every room is unique, record player in the room, mexican coke in the rooms and nice fast wifi. Showers here are also amazing. With Clyde Common and Stumptown part of the hotel make it very convenient. Especially if its raining.

    Benson Hotel

    Hotel Class:
3.11 mi from Townshend's Alberta Street Teahouse

This is probably the most famous hotel in Portland, and really sets the standard for Portland's bigger hotels. Built around 1912, the Benson has an old feel of luxury and elegance set in the subdued shades of a bygone age. In fact you can have a room in the old part or the new part of the hotel, both parts ...

Great price, great location. It's an old motel that looks straight out of the 50's that has been redone and made into a cool modern hipster hotel. There's a great bar and there are always lots of bands playing downstairs. A pretty hip place to stay. Make reservations early though. It books up pretty quickly.

Sure it may not be as "cool" or "curated" as the Ace hotel downtown...but it was a hell of a lot more comfortable and a nice gateway to the beauty of Portland's river side.

Fantastic luxury boutique hotel situated very conveniently to public transport and has chef David Machado's 3rd restaurant right on site. Between inspired French and Italian cuisine, luxurious pillow top beds, and beautiful art, Hotel Modera is definitely a hotel I'd highly recommend to anyone visiting the city of roses (aka Portland)

Slightly out of date, this large hotel is a central hub for many conventions and traditional Portland events, such as the Portland Marathon. This is not what I would call a cozy hotel, but if a central downtown location, good amenities, and a comfortable room is what you need, then this hotel should be acceptable, especially if you are attending ...

This beautiful, old-fashioned hotel looks a bit commercial and generic from the outside (largely thanks to the Embassy Suites logo) but once you step inside, you’ll feel as though you’ve been transported to another era. This hundred-year-old hotel has a grand lobby, with huge marble columns and molded ceilings. Plus the staff here are incredibly courteous and pay individual attention ...

I felt like I was on the outside of an inside joke when I was greeted by the doormen of the the Heathman iin full “Beefeaters” uniform. Just like the British ones that adorn the London tower, these “guardians of the tower”, set the mood for the hotel’s Old English ambiance. The dark-wooded lobby is small, but leads to the ...

I don't like walking into a hotel that looks like a sports bar or office. You may feel differently but after a twelve to fifteen hour flight from Europe or Asia, I want something soft, warm, that I feel would guarantee me a good sleep, or look as if it would. The open beam pipe style is not, for me, ...

Lion and the Rose Victorian B&B Inn

This gorgeous bed and breakfast was built at the turn of the 20th century as the family home of a wealthy German brewery owner. It was later converted into a boarding house and, then, a B&B, although it still maintains much of its original period elegance. In fact, if you have a thing for Edwardian design, you probably won’t want ...

The PDX Sheraton is one of my favorite Portland airport area hotels. It's large enough to accommodate conferences (which it often does), but well-staffed enough that you don't feel like you are lost in a sea of dazed travelers (which often happens in properties of this size). It has a couple hundred rooms and a handful of suites, and as ...

Up near the Portland Meadows racetrack near the bridge to Vancouver, WA, this chain hotel for budget-conscious travelers has a lot of little extras and mod design touches in the lobby that make it comfy. This might be my favorite hotel in Portland. Those with an interest in art, history, and architecture will love it, also there's a Starbucks right off the lobby and a lot of common area spaces.
