Lots of little villages in Hyde. Have a friend in Broadbottom and we have traipsed all over the area. Beautiful.

Rochdale, home of the Rochdale Pioneers with a magnificent Town Hall, a medieval parish church - St. Chad's - complete with stocks - 122 steps above the town; the Packer Spout; art gallery; Broadfield Park and some serious hills! Todmorden is a small market town, Indoor market days are Monday - Saturday (Tuesdays it is only open until 12), Outdoor market days are Wednesday - Sunday, Thursday is the second hand market. There are plenty of other independent shops as well to keep your wallet empty! But be warned most only open Wednesday - Sunday, and some not Sunday! ...
