Great compared to New York/New Jersey transit. Nice, clean and tidy. The Oyster card is very convenient since you just tap it as and have the choice to pay as you go.

London's Underground, or Tube is one of the world's oldest subways. It is an excellent metro system, that is a tourist's best friend letting you move around easily within the city.Recommended for:Budget Travelers

The tube is the oldest and most iconic underground in the world, especially after "V for Vendetta." There are museums dedicated to the London Underground. You can buy t-shirts that say, "Mind the Gap." The Underground is a convenient way to get around the city, though not quite as linear as the New York Subway and definitely more expensive. On the other hand, the Underground is much safer and cleaner.

Where do I even start? The tube is the only potential transport system (for me and many others). It will get you wherever you need to be, quickly. Crowded at some hours/stations but well worth it in the end. The staff at the London metro stations are very helpful and will always try to sort things out for you! :-)

It's definitely the best way to get around the city but as far as public transportation goes, it's one of the worst. Check for closures before you rely on it to get somewhere, as stations and entire lines are regularly shut down.

The only way to get around in London besides walking. Fast efficient and it goes everywhere. If you get confused ask one of the helpful workers and they will give you the best way to get to your destination. We use the Oyster card to save money on our rides.

The good news is that this is a great system for getting around and fairly easy to use. The not so good is its about 1000 miles underground so in Summer can be unbearable, the cars are small, so if you're tall can be challenging...but the best part is rush hour...when the sophisticated locals of London turn into rabid 28 Days Later zombies rushing and knocking each other over to their trains...Keep Calm:)

Even if the London Underground is a bit confusing at first, you will get used to it after a while. And you really should get used to it, because it's very useful to move around easily within the city.
