I stayed in this neighborhood when I visited Rome. It's supposed to be up and coming-- it's more quiet, but there are some areas that's more happening with food and nighttime activities. That said, I liked the area.

A fantastic open-air market held every Sunday morning, you can find just about anything here. It's a great place to do some bargain hunting, and if you're down with vintage clothing, you can put together an outfit here for less than 5 EUR if you're willing to be frugal! It's a colorful place and definitely an interested experience, if nothing ...

As the name suggests, it's a very artsy place- full of primary colors on the walls and furniture. It's a cool, laid-back bar that serves a variety of drinks and apperitivos. A young, cool crowd hangs here.

This place is one of the reasons why I love Trastevere so much. Looking at Big Mama's, you might think it's a tucked away restaurant or bar. But go down a flight of stairs and you will discover one of Rome's best jazz clubs. The club charges a cover, but if you pay a yearly membership fee (something like 15 ...

Do not miss a visit to the Basilica of Our Lady in Trastevere. This Basilica is one of the oldest Churches of Rome. The basic floor plan and wall structure of the church dates back to the 340s. After the visit, do not look at your map and just get lost in the nice small cobblestone streets of Trastevere. You ...

Beautiful basilica in the Trastevere. It's reputedly one of the oldest churches in Rome and may even be where the first mass was said. The facade is beautiful and the mosaics a real treat.

Its origins can be traced back as early as the fourth century and was rebuilt several times until you get to date with the characteristics of a Baroque basilica. Flanked by a tower of 1100, the underground hiding all over, discovered in early 1900. Probably not well known compared to his other works, the church holds a poster bearing the ...

Trast offers hip and original threads in Rome's poppin' Trastevere neighborhood. The shop sells items with Trastevere-centric logos that would serve well as gifts/souvenirs for travelers, especially since they are artistically designed and unique. It's definitely a shop well worth visiting since it's near the main hub of things. And while I loved the shop, none of the designs really ...

Nice piazza with a fountain. Compared to other grand piazzas throughout Italy, this might not appear very special, but it is less touristy and there are so many great restaurants around it.

One of the few free Roman attractions in Rome and a good cut through from the Colosseum to Victor Emanuel. I really liked it because of the grandeur of the remains compared to those in the UK.
