If it's made in Switzerland, it's sold here. They have all kinds of things from the goofy cow statues to some really nice lace that was made right there in Lauterbrunnen.

Architecture buffs unite. This is a great example of that modern Finnish design that we all love so much. Don't miss it. It's something that you can take photos of all day.

Russian Orthodox Cathedrals are some of my favorite places to visit. I love the ornate walls of icons and the architecture. This one is a great one. Just remember to be quiet when inside.

General Barclay de Tolley was commander of the Russian Army when Napoleon Bonaparte and his Grand Armee of a half a million soldiers invaded Russian in 1812. De Tolley recommended that Russian forces ... read more
retreat and allow French forces to move deep into the Russian countryside thus giving Russia a greater ability of cutting off their supply lines and thus defeating the invading French. This was a very unpopular strategy among Russians, so Tsar Alexander I replaced de Tolley with Marshal Kutuzov (whose monument is on the other side of the Kazan Cathedral). Kutuzov continued the de Tolley strategy of drawing in the French, and this resulted in a great Russian victory and French defeat.
