space that I could hardly believe my eyes. Most hotels try to fit in as many rooms as possible, but the best thing about staying here is that comfort definitely seems to be the priority. The restaurant and breakfast room was also very pretty, with a little outdoors patio area alongside for anyone who wanted to dine in the open air. I loved that aspect as I don’t like to feel enclosed when I choose to stay somewhere. There was also the option to eat breakfast in the bar area on the ground floor. Essentially, I liked the fact that there were many options for guests and that there was so much room.

knowledge about Chile and Santiago and where to go and what to do. The rooms were lovely — lots of space, complimentary dressing gown and slippers, and a really big double bed. Everything was geared towards comfort and style. Even though the hotel had a modern feel about it, there was a lot of wood used in the furnishings and that helped to create a somewhat antique feel about the place at the same time. I prefer antique style furnishings to modern ones, so I liked the visual aspect of the hotel too. The lady also said that deals could be offered when staying for a long period of time.

die for especially with blue cheese although you can switch that up if you prefer. The tuna tacos were killer and the happy hour specials for sushi is 50% off-you can't beat that! I was told by the fantastic bartender Christian, that the pork chops for dinner are amazing as well...I will have to come back!

The concierge at our hotel recommended this place and said they serve terrific "comfort food". Given all the amazing restaurants on the island, I was skeptical, but we gave it a try anyhow. The Tavern ... read more
does indeed serve comfort food, but with an island flare. Dinner started off with some tasty seasoned popcorn for the table. I ordered poke as an appetizer and a clam dish for dinner. Classic, simple dishes, but superbly we'll prepared. The poke was fresh and the preparation was subtle, light, and delicious. Utterly perfect. The clams were steamed in a white wine butter broth that was flavored with andouille sausage chunks. The staff was very friendly, the service was excellent. The only negative was that the restaurant was a bit hot and stuffy. Perhaps a few more ceiling fans are in order. The setting on the golf course makes a great place to watch the setting sun. It would be very hard to find a better place for an amazing Hawaiian feast.

Cheese head, that's what I am. I love, love cheese.Stinky, hard, soft, bring them on, they're yummy to me. lolI had been craving cheese lately and told my wife I'd seen a recent review of this place & ... read more
wanted to check it out. So on a Sunday afternoon, off we went to The Cheese Shop at The Mix.This place is small, tiny. I thought it would be bigger. It didn't have as much of a cheese selection as I thought it would have either. We were hungry and wanted a snack. I knew they sold sandwiches so I ordered the Torta Cubana. That sandwich was insanely good. Oh my! The wifey, not usually a sammy fan finished her half and wondered why I only got one to share. The bread (toasted), meat & cheese combined was absolutely delicious. It's a pricy small sammy ($9) but well worth it, I'm getting a whole one for me next time, wifey too. We also ordered two cheese to go:Boschetto Al Tartufo - Italian cow & sheep's milk cheese blended with white truffle shavings. OMG good. The small specs of white truffle shavings are heaven in your mouth. I put some fig jam on top of a water cracker w/ the cheese on top, wow wow wow. Yummy. Try it for yourself. Cavatina by Andante Dairy - goat cheese w/ ashy outer layer. The BOMB. Hands down the best goat cheese I've ever had. It was soft, not gamy and tasted like a light blue cheese. I ate this cheese with some grapes but honestly it did not need anything. I will be ordering this cheese again. Pricy? Heck yes. But and this is a big BUT, well worth every penny. Service: I got a newbie, he had to ask the other guy for each of my questions. The other guy could have helped me (I was the only one there), instead we had a conversation with newbie in between us relaying answers he did not know (which was everything I asked). That was weird, The cheese here is pricy but awesome. I'll definitely be back.

tasted on this side of the atlantic. We were looking forward to that lunch on Saturday all week and of course they were closed for lunch that day. #@?!%Plan B. Got on yelp and found Ciao Italia Ristorante. It had a great rating 4 1/2 stars and over 130 reviews. Problem solved. The place doesn't have a huge sign outside. It looked like it was hiding IMO. It looked small from the outside, but it was a nice spacious area inside. The decor was modern, it had a tiled floor. Maps of Italy on the wall. a fountain in the middle of the main dining area. Fancy ceiling fans lolWe were warmly greeted at the door by Jazmyn (our waitress) and promptly seated. It wasn't too busy, only a few customers at the time we got in. We opted to be seated in the main dining area. They had the lights off on that part of the restaurant and kindly accommodated us, since we had our son and needed a bigger table than the 2 person tables by the bar area.We got started with some drinks. Raspberry ice tea, they were sweat and refreshing on a very humid day It hit the spot. My wife and I agreed, it was the best raspberry ice tea we've ever had.We were also given some toasted bread when the main dish were served. This is probably the only issue I had with our meal. Toast were hard and you couldn't use it to sop up any of the lovely sauces. We ordered a salad and an appetizer to start off the meal.Insalata Mista - Spring salad mix, onions, tomato, topped with imported Mortadella & Provolone (pinwheel). That was a very delicious satisfying salad. The homemade Italian dressing was perfect and they did not over dress the salad. The mortadella & provolone, shaped into mini pinwheels were absolutely fantastic. I'm not sharing next time. lol.Calamari Fritti - I'm used to bigger pieces of calamari, but these were delicious. It came with their San Marzano tomato sauce as a dipping sauce for this dish and that was a very good compliment to the fried calamari. A squeeze of lemon and perfecto. Simple and delicious. For our main course, we picked two pasta dishes.Gnocchi di Ricotta Fatti in Casa - Homemade / handmade ricotta gnocchi with fresh San Marzano tomato sauce. A perfect gnocchi if I ever tasted one. Light and airy. Paired with their tomato sauce (and that tomato sauce is just the best. They should bottle that, Very simple, but flavorful. yummy). is simply very good.Ravioli Casa Recci w/ Butternut Squash - The ravioli itself was just perfectly cooked. The butternut squash filling was on the sweet side, but still delicious. The ravioli was tossed in the same San Marzano tomato sauce, very small amount, but it did the job of a slight contrast to the sweetness of the butternut squash. Delicious and my son approved (he ate 2 of these bad boys)I'm glad we found Cioa Italia, now we have two excellent authentic Italian restaurants to choose from when we are in the downtown Whittier area.I'll definitely be back.

the way to go ($5.50) I check in with the hostess and we were seated within 5 minutes. The place was packed, I'm sure thanks to the Dine LA pricing. Lol. The waiter explained how things worked (red = no meat, green = let the meat feast begin). He also explained that the salad bar was included in the meal and sides of Brazilian Cheese Bread, Garlic Mash Potatoes, Crispy Polenta & Caramelized Bananas will be delivered to our table. All the sides were delicious, specially the bananas. The salad bar - it has everything you want in a salad bar & more. Aside from the salads (mixed greens & spinach) itself with a myriad of salad dressing. They had black beans, rice, coconut haddock (delicious), mortadella, prosciutto, chunks of Parmesan cheese (from a giant wheel), green beans, artichoke, etc etc etc. I was already getting full from all of it. The meats - were hit and miss. The first meat we were presented was a top sirloin. It was not edible, very chewy & hard to a point the I had to spit it out. Not a good start for the meat course. They redeemed themselves with the next few meats we received. Bacon wrapped filet mignon, garlic filet mignon (the best of what we tasted), sausage & pork ribs were all super good The chickens (bacon wrapped chicken & chicken wings) were just okay. The disappointment - we weren't able to taste the lamb. The guy with the lamb skewer passed our table, but said another lamb dish was on its way out. We were their over an hour and we never saw that lamb or any other lamb dish out of the kitchen. The service for the most part was good. But on two occasion and with two different meat servers, my sister requested some well done meat (she doesn't like bloody meat) and each time the meat server said they would come back with her (well done) meat. They both never came back. Not cool. My experience here was 3.5 stars worthy. Coming during Dine LA and getting a discounted price made this culinary excursion a definite plus. Having lunch with my sister (and she paid) made it a special meal. I'll definitely be back.
