Origin Kitchen + Bar

Just ate here last night and it was delish! They’ve gotten on the farm-to-table bandwagon here and serve lots of organic produce and grass fed beef, which the health conscious eater in me loves. I ... read more
highly recommend the salmon belly bloody mary ceviche. It was divine! The Texas red fish had this amazing sauce and the shaved brussell sprout salad made you forget you were eating something healthy. Great spot to have dinner with friends or for a romantic night out.

Come to The Spa at The Crescent if you want a completely decadent spa experience. Housed inside one of the area’s most luxurious hotels, I came here for a bridal shower and had the best time! I highly ... read more
recommend the fusion massage. The massage therapist uses several different techniques depending on your body’s needs and I left feeling like a brand new person. Before or after your treatments you can use the saunas and steam rooms. There’s even a little café that serves light fare like salads, juices, and smoothies. Place an order and they’ll have it ready at the hour of your choosing. My girlfriends and I also booked manis and pedis and had our own room to ourselves. Overall, they do a great job maintaining an air of tranquility here. Just love it!

Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge

This place is a full-sized resort. The entrance way looks less like a hotel lobby and more like an airport terminal, with huge windows looking out to the hotel's pools and gardens. And it's huge. The ... read more
900+ room resort (all housed within one massive X-shaped building) has hallways big enough to drive a small truck through. But being so big means walking a long way to get to the resort's main attractions, and I was told that guests have been complaining about the trek. The main outdoor attraction is the hotel's complex of pools. A lazy river, waterslide and multitude of regular pools means there's plenty for the family to do even during the heat of the summer. And when the weather's a bit nicer, you can hit the links on the hotel's two golf courses. I was told that for an extra $65/day/person, you get access to the hotel's “Griffon Club,” where you can sample from a variety of buffets and grab a drink at the private bar. The price seems a bit steep for what you get, but if you're looking for a private place to grab a bite, it might be something you'd like to look into.
