Trinity Capital is an elegant hotel with especially eccentric interiors. The standard room was colorful, modern and super comfortable. The bar is lively and makes perfect cocktails. The location is slightly remote, though it is across from the Trinity College Dublin, 20mins walk from the National Gallery of Ireland, St. Stephen’s Green Park and Grafton Street, a major, lively pedestrian shopping street with great restaurants and cafes. It is a good value. Do explore: take the hop on/off tour bus as key sights are scattered around town.

The Trinity Capital has a completely over-the-top, through-the-looking-glass feel – it’s all super high-backed chairs and enormous dog and camel statues – not at all what you would expect from the outside. There is an extensive series of public rooms downstairs, including a small green courtyard. The rooms themselves are well equipped and stylish, if a bit on the small side. The deluxe rooms significantly bigger and airier and, in my opinion, well worth the extra spend (€25). The hotel is slightly out of the way, but still in the center of town, so a good spot if you want to be able to step back from the hustle and bustle. But be warned – there is a fire station next door so if you’re a light sleeper you might want to request a room in the newer side of the hotel where you’re less likely to be disturbed.

As the name suggests, the hotel is right behind Trinity College. The first thing you not is the interesting decoration - An Arabian Nights feeling mixed with Alice in Wonderland complete with bold striped wallpaper, bright colours and a display of an array of old luggage! The lobby is filled with tall-backed chairs and unique furniture and is marked difference to most hotels and one that I found charming. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful, and there is a restaurant and bar located on site - although I did not sample either of these. The Hotel is located partly above the Dublin Fire Brigade so depending on where your room is, noise could be a problem through out the night. Trendy and different, a great stay and good value.
