This is a must see on St. John, especially if it's your first time to the island. It is one of two beaches you pay to enjoy ($4/per) but they also provide a concession stand (with rum), life guards, underwater snorkeling trail, equipment rental, flushing bathrooms and showers. Hard to beat for the traveling family with elderly, youngins' or those looking for some extra comfort.

Trunk Bay is a world class beach maintained as part of the Virgin Island's National Park. There is an entrance fee of $4 per person per day or an annual family pass for $15. There are concessions for food and drink. It can get crowded during the day as many cruise ship passengers are dropped here for a swim and snorkel. BUT - our favorite time is a little after 4 when the ticket takers leave and all the cruise ship folks are gone (bless their hearts!) and the sun will set. We often take our dinner to this beach and close it up! Don't take anything glass, but anything else is fine. We have a caterer near us in Fish Bay who will often prepare a wonderful gourmet meal which I pick up around 4:00 and enjoy on the beach (Ted's Supper Club Catering).

Lovely beach . We go here when the crowds leave, about 4. The large tarpons are feeding on the fry around the Cay and you can watch the afterglow of the sunset. Snorkeling is also good at the western end of the beach. the "underwater trail" has been defunct for many years.

BREATHTAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL BUT CAN BE VERY CROWDED. GOOD AMENITIES - LIFE GUARD, UNDERWATER TRAIL, BATHROOMS AND FOOD. GOOD PARKING. MUST PAY TO GET IN (FEE IS MODERATE). (ONLY 4 OUT OF 5 STARS BECAUSE IT CAN BE CROWDED - BUT IF YOU DON'T MIND THAT, THIS IS A FABULOUS AND SPECTACULARLY BEAUTIFUL BEACH)

A paradisiac beach with an underwater path you can go through swimming. Sand is white and the water turquoise. There are a lot of sea birds to observe. Unfortunately it is quite a small beach and being so beautiful it is a little crowded.
