Where to go in Tucson for good food, drinks and nightlife?
The place to go in Tucson is the Hotel Congress. It's a hotel, but it's also a bar, a tap room, a cafe and a music venue. I was there for some afternoon drinks, but I checked out their music line up and it looked solid. The music venue is in a separate room from the main bar, so you can still go if you're not into the music. I strongly recommend Pinnacle Peak in Trail Dust Town. Trail Dust Town is a touristy western town with a free stunt show, but the Cowboy Steak at Pinnacle Peak is cheap and amazing. Plus if you wear a tie... they cut it off and hang it from the ceiling. For Sonora style Mexican food, there's one place you have to check out... El Charro Cafe. I went to the original location on Court Street which is the oldest Mexican restaurant in Tucson. But I hear the other locations are great. I would also swing by the two local microbreweries. They're open late like bars. Barrio is good. Nimbus is better.
