    Ahau Tulum

    Ahau Tulum

Zona Costera Num 1434 Tulum, Quintana Roo. Mexico, 77780 Tulum, Quintana Roo, Mexico
    4.5
    2 reviews

Great beach cabana style hotel for any budget. There are really expensive rooms ($500+) and Bali huts with only an outdoor shower ($80). Situated right on the beach, you don't need to wear shoes when you leave your room. You can walk around barefoot all day. The food at the restaurant is delicious. The service was excellent. I can't wait ...

    Teetotum Hotel

Avenida Coba Sur Lote 2, Tulum, Quintana Roo, Mexico
    4.5
    4 reviews

For me, this super-cool hotel is the sweet spot in Tulum. It's not on the beach--but that means it has electricity and hot water around the clock. It's also not smack in the middle of town, so it's quieter. It's a bike ride to the beach (and they have bikes you can use), or a walk to town. Then again, ...

Very Good! - 84% of guests recommend

An hour drive from the airport in Cancun, we arrived to a quiet and lush entrance of Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa. Overall, we had a truly wonderful experience. The food was some of the best I have ever had at an all-inclusive resort (especially the Mexican cuisine) and the cultural entertainment was impressive. Our room was fairly new and ...

    4.5
    6 reviews

I'm not quite sure -- even if you tried really, really hard -- it's physically possible to get stressed out at Zamas (or in Tulum in general). This place is the Mexican beach version of a hippie hotel; the chilled-out restaurant hosted gringos and locals munching on fresh fish and hummus, and sarong-clad women (and men) lazed in the sun, ...

I went there for dinner. It is right on the beach, though it is hard to see at night. They have live band playing salsa music on Sunday night, which is why we went. The whole place was very lively with the band playing and people dancing on the crowded dance floor with the sound of crashing waves at the ...

Fair - 70% of guests recommend

If you want your own private cabana right on a beautiful beach, great food, mayan spas... then there are several places in Tulum that will work. Cabanas Copal is one of my favorites, though. With no electricity in the rooms, it forces you to literally be off the grid. Exactly what I was looking for.

Centro CESiaK (aka Boca Paila Camps) has always been a favorite of mine in this area. I really like the concept, even if some of the parts are less than perfect. It’s operated by a non-profit organization that does environmental and educational work related to the biosphere reserve and region as a whole. It’s super sustainable, with wind power and ...

Rustic, different, adorable. Loved it! Well, only there one night since it wouldn't stop raining. (I do not recommend this place if it is raining) the rooms aren't fancy but who cares! Must go!

Coco’s is great: a throwback to Tulum’s old days as a budget beach destination, with some well-selected improvements and amenities. The majority of units are one-room structures on the beach with palapa roofs and comfortable screened-in beds. They don’t have bathrooms; instead, there are shared restrooms near the entrance, which are spacious, convenient and super clean--a far cry from the ...

Very Good! - 84% of guests recommend

This is the sort of place that has made staying in town such a good option: classy, comfortable, affordable, walking distance from restaurants and shops, and an easy drive or bike ride from the beach. Walking through the gate, it really does feel like a secret garden, with tall trees shading a long central courtyard, complete with wooden benches and ...

If this resort were anywhere but Tulum, I'd have left partway through the trip. The service was unbelievably bad. Not slow, I mean neglectful and dishonest. The owner of the resort treats the local mexican staff like trash and the girls at the front desk follow suit. They are constantly typing away on their computers and can hardly be bothered ...

    Villa Las Estrellas

Carretera Tulum - Boca Paila Km 8, 77780 Tulum
    4.5
    3 reviews

Villa Las Estrellas is a little beachfront hotel on Tulum's gorgeous beach. The six rooms and three freestanding suites all have ocean views. Rooms have thatched roofs, daybeds, hammocks, and white curtains blowing in the breeze. Tequila, the owner's dog, keeps an eye on the guests. Everyone who works here is helpful and friendly. A great midwinter escape.
