    Medina of Tunis

Much more impressive than I expected. Large and busy but with plenty of atmosphere and a few nice mosques / minarets to add to the atmosphere.

Gorgeous beaches, lovely resorts, and easy access to some of the better ancient sights on Tunisia. Djerba is a great place to relax and a nice base for exploring the southeastern part of the country. A bit touristy but still retains a lot of local charm.

    Amphitheatre of El Jem

A pesar de estar muy alejado de los principales sitios de visita, sin duda alguna, se trata de los mejores monumentos del Imperio Romano que se mantienen en pie, además de permanecer en mejor estado de conservación que el Coliseo de Roma.

A pleasant souq with a lot of atmosphere -- sells mostly tourists items but without the touts. A good place to pick up ceramics, glass pieces, or a Kairouan carpet.

    Great Mosque (Mosque of Uqba)

Lovely mosque with an attractive courtyard. We were allowed into the courtyard but not into the mosque itself. A must-see in Kairouan. The lack of adornment gives it an elegant simplicity.

The medina here is gorgeous. Every turn is a great photo. Make sure you take time to put down the camera and soak up the atmosphere. There are plenty of small eateries and cafes to sit back, relax, and take it all in.

    Sidi Mahres Beach

Gorgeous long strip of white sand and turquoise water. Absolutely idyllic. Best to have a beach chair / private spot at a hotel. The sun is intense and there aren't a lot of independent beachside services.

Relative quiet and very attractive Ksar. Feels a little less discovered than some of the others.

Yes, Tatouine is a real place and this Ksour is one of the best in the area. Relive Star Wars or simply enjoy these for their beauty and history. Arrive early when before the heat is miserable and while the lighting is good.

This picturesque Berber village is stunning. Be sure to climb to the top to see the white mosque and panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

    Mosquee Zitouna

The great mosque of Tunis. A pleasant escape from the chaos of the medina. The mosque is attractive and is a nice anchor as you explore. You can only visit the courtyard but it is lovely.
