    The Byzantium Hotel

    The Byzantium Hotel

    Class:
    4.5
    3 reviews

This hotel was stunning! Located only steps from Hagai Sophia, the Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace on a cute street full of shops and cafes. The staff was friendly and willing to help with any request, while the rooms themselves were gorgeous. Even if you don't stay here, don't miss the rooftop terrace - tallest in the area!

    Troya Hotel

    Troya Hotel

    4
    5 reviews
Good! - 78% of guests recommend

When my inlaws visited us in Istanbul, we had them stay at Troya Hotel in Pera. Our one major complaint was that much of the hotel was undergoing renovations at that time but it was definitely worth it as today's Troya is modern and gleaming. The hotel is set in Pera alongside some of the nicest stone buildings in Beyoglu. ...

    Hotel Sapphire

    Hotel Sapphire

    Class:
    4.5
    6 reviews
Excellent! - 89% of guests recommend

Gulhane is a great neighborhood to stay. Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace are just up the hill. The tram leads to Sirkeci Station and the ferries of Eminonu around the corner. The streets are cobblestones and some of my favorite restaurants and nargiles are in this neighborhood. Sapphire is spacious, with many amenities--including guided tours and airport transfer. The decor ...

    The Green Park Taksim

    The Green Park Taksim

    Class:
    4
    3 reviews

If you want to be near Taksim, Talimhane is the best place. The cobblestone streets are lined with international restaurants: Korean, Palestinian, Indian and, of course Turkish. The Green Park is the nicest hotel in the neighborhood. The rates run up to 200 Euro a night but you'll have a secure, conveniently located and luxurious hotel.

    Hanedan Hotel

I love this boutique hotel! Hotel Hanedan is located near the Four Seasons in a quieter area of Sultanahmet. This hotel is warm, inviting, and feels like a cozy guesthouse. I felt right at home and loved speaking and chatting with the staff. They are incredibly accommodating and are happy to help in any way they can. I was told ...

Four Seasons Istanbul at the Bosphorus

Four Seasons Istanbul at the Bosphorus

    Class:
    5
    9 reviews
Excellent! - 95% of guests recommend

The stretch of Istanbul between Kabatas and Ortakoy is the preserve of palaces. Dolmabahce Palace, where the last Sultans and even Ataturk lived, is one such palace. The Four Seasons Bosphorus is another. Flaming torches out front proclaim your arrival in this den of luxury. You enjoy the usual amenities of a Four Seasons Hotel here--sumptuous rooms, spa, swimming pool ...

    The Marmara Taksim

    The Marmara Taksim

    4.5
    11 reviews
Good! - 75% of guests recommend

You can see it from practically everywhere in Istanbul: the tower on Taksim Square with the giant TV on top. The Marmara is the most upscale hotel in the immediate vicinity of Taksim and it's worth the money--if you can afford it. It has the usualy amenties: doorman and valet service, a rooftop swimming pool, a view of both Taksim ...

Excellent! - 86% of guests recommend

Swissotel overlooks the Bosphorus and the neighborhood of Kabatas, including Besiktas stadium. It is also a convenient walk to Nisantasi, one of the wealthiest and most fashionable neighborhoods in Istanbul. Along with the Four Seasons, Swissotel is one of the great foreign hotels in Istanbul. I was able to visit Swissotel on two occasions. First, I spoke at an MBA ...

    Kelebek Hotel and Pension

As soon as my wife and I moved to Istanbul to teach English our new friends and coworkers began recommending Cappacodia to us. We had seen amazing pictures of the rock churches and fairy chimneys in various guidebooks so it wasn't a hard sell. I asked one of my fellow writers at Time Out Istanbul, Pat Yale, who has literally ...

    Seven Hills Hotel

Hands down, this is the best rooftop terrace in an area full of rooftop terraces. It feels like the highest vantage point, with unbelievable views of Hagai Sophia, the Blue Mosque and the Golden Horn. The desserts were among the highlights of our trip and the waiters were incredibly nice- always willing to take a picture or offer a blanket ...

    Grand Hotel de Londres

    Grand Hotel de Londres

    4

Few corners of old Europe have survived globalization with their character intact. The Pera section of Istanbul, however, is old Europe at its grandest. The Hotel Londres was built during the 1890's after the Orient Express began ferrying Europe's wealthiest travelers to Istanbul. In 1922 Hemingway stayed in the Londres while covering the Turkish War of Independence. From the classic ...

    Naz Wooden House Inn

    Naz Wooden House Inn

    Class:

Very Good! - 82% of guests recommend

Staying here is like reading an elegantly written book about the life in old Istanbul from the pen of a forgotten Turkish author. As can be deduced from its full name, Naz is housed in a traditional Turkish mansion that’s located in a lovely pristine Istanbul neighbourhood in Sultanahmet. The hotel’s ebony façade is eye-catching, its architecture is like a ...

Another mid-range hotel in a great neighborhood. Miapera is by turns kitschy and chic. The rooms are small but elegant and they serve full Turkish breakfast every morning. When friends and family visited us during our years in Istanbul, we usually recommended Pera.

I was a bit sceptical of heading to a Club Med. But, it looked like guaranteed warmth, I loved the idea of all you can eat Turkish food and the kids club looked like a lot of fun...and it fit the budget! It delivered on what it promised. It is a 4 star rated resort and it was a very ...

    Meddusa Hotel

Very Good! - 80% of guests recommend

One of the great things about Istanbul is that many of the best apartments and hotels are small operations and lurk in the nooks between the major international chains. Meddusa is just down the street from Hagia Sophia and the Basilica Cistern. It has a great view and serves a full Turkish breakfast for a surprisingly reasonable price.

    Ciragan Palace Kempinski

Excellent! - 90% of guests recommend

This is not a hotel, it is a resort, and once you are here, there is really no reason to leave the “palace” walls. Unless, of course, you want to see Istanbul. It is actually attached to a real palace – which has a restaurant, conference rooms, and palace suites (I really wanted to see one of those!). Given the ...
