The Twelve was pretty busy on the day I came to visit. The lobby was filled with people who we're either there for a convention or some sort of meeting. The day I came the hotel was fully booked so I wasn't able to look at a room, but I did take a walk around the hotel itself. It had a cool, modern decor -- there was a bar in the main lobby and lots of swanky seats and flat screen t.v.s. This hotel is directly across the street from the Civic Center Marta station and even has a restaurant inside. Having the Marta nearby is a nice option since it cost me $10 to use the valet here for only an hour and there is no self-parking. There are also a couple of sandwich and pizza places along the same block as the hotel if you don't want to walk far to get a bite to eat.

I think you’d be hard pressed to find many nicer hotels in Atlanta. The highlight of Twelve Centennial are the rooms – I visited a deluxe unit that was about as nice as any hotel that I’ve ever stayed in or seen. The room was extremely new and modern with a nearly full-sized kitchen that was loaded with really top of the line appliances – the living area was separated from the bedroom by a sloped wall that didn’t cut the two off completely but did provide a little privacy – I think it would be absolutely perfect for a family looking to spend a week in Atlanta while taking in the sights. It’s luxury, and the location is great, too; you’re right by the Georgia Aquarium and the World of Coke museum.

The thing about Twelve Centennial is that the building is split between residential units and the hotel, complete with a full-on parking garage that I believe is shared by both. Maybe I’m alone on this, but it always makes me feel strange to be at a hotel that doubles as someone’s living space, almost as if I’m out of place. Something to keep in mind if you’re as crazy as me.

This beautiful modern hotel is located in the heart of downtown and right next door to the MARTA station. The rooms are all suites—with full kitchens, pots and pans and high-end appliances, as well as sitting areas, cozy separate bedrooms and enormous bathrooms. Seriously. They may be the biggest bathrooms in Atlanta. Also, many of the suites have balconies with wonderful views of the city and the hotel’s huge pool. There is a restaurant and a bar in the lobby—both have a more posh, formal vibe—think power lunches and expense accounts. While I was there the staff was available and friendly but with that perfect balance of discretion. My only issue with Twelve Centennial Park is that the lobby entrance is through the parking deck—would have been fine had I valeted, but it took me forever to fint the entrance after self-parking my car. Regardless, I think this hotel would be ideal for extended stay business or family travelers.
