I rank this aquarium up there with Monterey Bay and my boyfriend, who isn't a sentimental Californian, reckons that it is even better. The exhibits are all very well done and the facility is really nicely laid out. There is a fantastic shark tank and the seals provide seemingly endless entertainment. It's right there at the Waterfront so combining this with a trip to the crafts market, a little shopping, and a nice dinner makes for a near on perfect day.

When you want to visit the aquarium make sure you're there at feeding time. A very informative presentation is held at the same time while you watch divers enter the tank and feed the different creatures housed there.
Loved the penguin area and the tank with clown fish where you can go up the middle of the specially built tank for your photo opportunity.

While it may not be the biggest aquarium in South Africa I really is quiet nice. I took the behind the scene tour and the guide was smart and enjoyable. The animals are heathy and are released back into the wild to prevent domestication. Very cool stuff

I visited the Two Oceans Aquarium on a rainy day in Cape Town. This place is great for passing an afternoon when the weather isn't great. The exhibits were all good and gave lots of information. I was visiting alone, but saw loads of kids running around having a whale of a time (no pun intended). Worth a look I'd say.
