The Uffizi is a must-see museum when you're in Florence. It houses a huge collection of some of the world's masterpeices; works by da Vinci, Botticelli, Giotto, Michelangelo, Raphael, Rembrandt, Caravaggio...you get the picture. Lines to get in can be daunting--buy your tickets online to cut your wait time significantly.

One of the world's oldest art museums. It has a wonderful collection of masters of the Florentine school. If you are in Florence you must visit the Uffizi Gallery.

The Birth of Venus is the most famous work here but the museum is full of masterpieces.
Book in advance or directly at the museum the day before to avoid lines. Alternatively, arrive before 8 a.m. Even with a reservation, 8:15 a.m. is recommended if you want to enjoy the museum in relative quiet.
Lines can be 2 hours+ long. Pre-sales are available next to the entrance to door 2. If you've booked online don't forget that you must pick up your ticket in advance at door 3.

Amazing gallery for renaissance art. Each work seems more impressive than the one before it, and you can spend an entire day here if you aren't careful!

Unique! You have to go see one of the most famous paintings galleries in the world. Remeber to book or buy your ticket in advance before you end up standing 2 hours in the line. Among the most famous paintings here you find: Botticelli's "Birth of Venus", Michelangelo's "Holy Family". Look up at the ceiling to see waht is called the "Grottesque decorations".

The Uffizi Gallery is an absolute must for art fans. Like Accademia, however, lines tend to form early and run long. Try to purchase tickets ahead of time, or make a reservation with a tour guide. No photography is allowed inside the galleries.

Houses possibly the best collection of Italian art in the world. My faves are Giotto, Botticelli, Pierto della Francesca, and Raphael. It's organized so you see the oldest art first. I suggest you do some research beforehand so you can beeline to what's most important to you, or just wander through. When I went last year no water was allowed inside, the cafe was closed, and the only bathrooms were on the first floor. Be ready for lots of stairs, and buy tickets in advance.

Nobody has really lived life until they've passed through the corridors of this esteemed museum and gazed at the many masterpieces of the Renaissance. Book ahead and jump the queues.

Unparalleled museum for Italian works of art. Walking through the Uffizi is like my Renaissance art history class brought to life. There are so many rooms it is impossible to take it all in during one visit. I've done two and still have not seen many of the works.
