It's one of the less crowded areas in Bali and is worth exploring - where there are plenty of luxurious villas and hotels. It is hilly and the view is stunning.

There are some lovely properties here and the beaches are quite nice but this little enclave is more gated community than Balinese. Fine for an unadventurous 80 year old but my guess is that regardless of where you come from, there is something nicer, more distinctive, and closer to home. Why go to Bali if you are going to spend ...

Big wave surfing venue, tropical hideaway, hidden beaches, dramatic cliffs, honeymooner retreat, religious centre and home to some of the world’s most beautiful resorts, such as Bulgari, Alila, Banyan Tree. Where? Uluwatu in Bali. Mainly overlooked by the crowds of Kuta, Uluwatu is one of the few destinations in Bali that is still relatively quiet and draws a discerning clientele ...

I really like Seminyak. Definitely my favorite part of the island this close to Kuta. No doubt, it is well touristed but the restaurants, bars, and hotels here are a bit more classy and it isn't quite the meat market that you'll find in Kuta. A good compromise between a desire for nightlife and infrastructure and the desire to get ...

The beaches around this area is not so great (and may not be swimmable due to strong current) but the rice field view was great. This is also another area in Bali that you can explore and see how the locals live, and if you are lucky, you got to see one of those religious ceremonies.

Legian beach is a quiet(er) beach in Bali, just next to the Kuta Beach. Same beach, same wave, same sand to Kuta but friendlier people and less hustle and bustle of the street vendor. You can rent beach chairs for IDR 35,000 (vendors will open up at IDR 50k) each.

Batubelig used to be a bit of a party beach but all that has been stopped by the authorities and the buildings have been knocked down. I like it simply because it's a little out of the way, quite but not too far from the action. Go to the left and have a meal on the beach, it's just great! ...

One of my favorite spots in Bali! Beautiful town set amongst the jungles and neon green rice paddies. Ubud is the cultural heart of Bali - full of temples, great restaurants and cool places to browse shops. It is also a great place to see some of the traditional music and dance of the island.

Gianyar is the home of Bali Safari Marine Park, you can even stay overnight, they propose bungalows where you actually get to see animals right from your bedroom's window, a nice experience to get away from busy areas of Bali, it's definitely a family venue.
