Andy Warhol's factory used to be here when the park was filled with junkies and May's department store was on 14th. Now it basically sucks with a bunch of yuppies buying rotten applesauce or some such crap.

President Teddy Roosevelt lived in this house from his birth to the time he was 14 years old. Although it's reconstructed, Teddy niece, Alice Roosevelt Longworth helped the architects with what she remembered the house was like when she visited there.

I was on a pretty big energy bar and kombucha kick when I was traversing all about Manhattan. This was one of the conveniently located Whole Foods I would visit to acquire said snack and drink. I found it very easy to navigate, the staff were friendly and checking out was a breeze.

Union Square used to be a site of protests and political ferment, and is today more of tiny oasis for New Yorkers and NYU students. There's often some break dancing on the south end, and a great farmers' market three or four times a week on the north end. A relaxed square in which to pull up a bench, grab ...

Classy!) *ACCIO NERD REFERENCE!* (That last one was kind of ironic...) I have never in my life been to a comics shop as cool and varied as this one. They had things on sale that I didn't even know existed, and some that I ...

Another small music venue that I am a fan of. I have seen many great artists here. Such as Stephen Marley, Ryan Leslie, ZZ Ward, and most recently Beats Antique. Sound system is great. Drinks are reasonable and I like how there is an area you can stand upstairs even if you arent VIP.

As movie theaters go in NY, this is one of the better ones. The restrooms are usually very clean, theater floors usually aren't sticky and seats are comfortable. Of course, concession prices are way too high.

One of the more attractive neighborhoods in the city. What's not to like about Washington Square Park and mom and pop retail. The proximity to NYU makes things a bit crowded and pulls them down market a but this is a must see in the city.

Washington Square Park is the heart of Greenwich Village. The main landmark is the triumphal arch dedicated to George Washington. You can see it from at least half a mile up Fifth Avenue. It's been a while since I've been to the Rubin, and I miss it. It's pretty cool, having a gateway to the Himalayas via Chelsea! Beautiful and interesting exhibits having to do with the touchstone religions of India and Tibet - Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhism. Statuary, paintings, tapestries...beautiful. The docents used to do storytelling nights (I don't know if they ...
