Uniion Square is a world class destination! It is a Square in the center of downtown, that is surrounded by some of the best shops, hotels, and restaurants San Francisco has to offer... St Francis Hotel, Saks Fifth Avenue, Tiffany's. It is an architectural phenomenon with centers leading up in a cascading order people use to sit, people watch, relax, and simply enjoy life! There is a wonderful cosmopolitan cafe and pastry shop at the top Empoio Rolli, and it is excellent! There is also a booth to buy half price tickets for a grand performance that night, there are many theaters in San Francisco. There is the Beautiful Dewey Monument, also known as the Naval Monument, dedicated by Roosevelt. Many days will have art exhibitions, in the winter the center of Union Square turns into an ice skating rink. The SF cable cars go right by Union Square, so it is a great travel point and meeting place. Whatever brings you to Union Square you are sure to appreciate the uniqueness and beauty of this destination!

Neiman Marcus. A Macy's flagship store. A multi-story Tiffany's. Cable cars. The Westin St. Francisco hotel. Dozens of shops, art galleries, and boutiques. This is the heart of San Francisco, and the shopping center of the city. The square itself hosts festivals and special events during the day throughout the year, and the downtown district lights up at night, with theatres, nightclubs, and restaurants hopping in every direction for several blocks. Snap a photo of the Roman goddess Victory rising high into the air, a memorial for Admiral George Dewey's win at the Battle of Manila Bay during the Spanish American War.

Union square is a hub of the shopping in San Francisco. The square is a place I go to rest a lot of time between classes. It is amazing for tourists to just have a place to sit and rest during your shopping experience.
Random events are held in Union Square, like an ice skating rink around xmas time.

The Central place to ALL shopping boutiques, mall, and restaurants. I highly suggest to use this application if you have a smartphone, Yelp. It will help guide you through many places around that area alone.

Union square was nicely decked out for Chinese New Year. If you've got money to burn, then it's great for retail therapy. I went there because we don't have Uniqlo in Canada

Union Square is tourist heaven for those from out of town, but for those around here, it's where you go for a date or to price check the latest and greatest, whether that be Neiman Marcus or Macy's. In the winter, go for the ice skating, and in the summer, people watch. Have fun!

The Union Square shopping area features numerous high end shopping opportunities from large department stores to small boutique shops. The Christmas displays are fantastic.
