    The Dubai Mall

    165 reviews

The largest Mall in the U.A.E. is Dubai Mall, with over 1200 shops and offers anything you look for. However wait for the shopping festival which is happening early in the year, otherwise prices might be high.

    Mall of the Emirates

    85 reviews

The Mall of the Emirates is said to be the most popular mall in Dubai (no longer the largest with Dubai Mall done). It's certainly packed with people, ranging from the rich shopping at the aspirational stores to the lowly workers pushing their way through the Carrefour on the ground level. It's nicely decorated, but I didn't think it was ...

    Abra on Dubai Creek

    50 reviews

The only authentic thing left to do in Dubai is to take an abra across the creek. It'll cost you all of one dirham and gives you a taste of what it used to be like before the malls took over as the epicenter of it all.

    Desert Safari Dubai

    34 reviews

This was one of the highlight of my trip to Dubai. Kids love it (and so do I). It is full of thrills as the skillful driver is able to maneuver the hilly and steep desert. Typically the tour providers include an option for ATV ride too (at an additional fee) and provide dinner and belly dancing performance.

    Deira Gold Souk

    45 reviews

Less about shopping than gawking. Hard to find a bargain unless you really know what you are are doing. Somewhat atmospheric but more strip mall than Arabian Nights.

    Ski Dubai

    36 reviews

Yeah, I really liked it but that was because I could put my white guilt on hold for those moments when I was rushing down the artificial ski slope in the middle of the Arabian desert. Actually, the realization that the carbon imprint I had left by helping to fund such an prideful endeavor didn't hit me till after I ...

    Global Village

Love, love, love this place! So glad that my family tricked me into going here. This is where the locals go, what a fun place to walk around. They have Souk areas that are separated into different countries. So you can stroll around an area dedicated to Iraq then few feet away stroll around area dedicated to Vietnam. Most of ...

    Jumeirah Mosque

    23 reviews

The Jumeirah Mosque is a beautiful structure and because it is an active place of worship, non muslims are not allowed to visit....without an organized tour. Since we were not "organized" we didn't get a chance to marvel at the interiors but we were happy with being able to take a few snapshots of the intricately constructed and decorated exteriors.
