This town on the Firth of Moray has a popular beach despite the northern location. When we went, it was very windy and cool. But we enjoyed the view of the stormy Firth.

We took the train from Newcastle and got off in Hexham because it was close to where we wanted to start walking Hadrian's Wall. The people seemed friendly as we asked for information about getting to the Wall.

A town where you fancy just a slow stroll about looking for interesting goodies. It's also a good place to fish on the River Wye and has nice open spaces around the town too.

Ferry terminus for the ferry to Mull in Scotland. Heart of Presbyterian Ireland as it was Paisley's seat.

Another decent-sized coastal town in County Atrim. Seat of the county and the civil parish. There are some standing stones and the remains of Olderfleet castle are a haunting reminder of a violent past that stretches back 800 years.
