Great coffee and moist, delicious carrot orange cake. A cute alternative to Monmouth with a kind of Latin feel.

    The Wolseley

    160 Piccadilly, London W1J 9EB, United Kingdom
    31 reviews

When you are visiting London, you must at least once go for high tea, and when you do, the Wolseley is one of the best places to do it. This is London at its finest. They serve amazing finger sandwiches (with the crusts cut off - hoorah!) - cakes, scones with clotted cream (one of the tastiest substances known to ...

19 Old Park Lane, London W1K 1LB, United Kingdom
    23 reviews

The best sushi in London hands down. London is not known for its sushi, but Nobu is the only sushi place in London that can hold its own against a good California sushi restaurant. The scene is upscale, and the crowd decidedly stylish and cool. There are actually 2 Nobus in London. Park Lane is a nicer dining area, with ...

Heron Tower, 110 Bishopsgate, London EC2N 4AY, United Kingdom
    9 reviews

Rating for the bar rather than restaurant. This is part of a US restaurant group which combines Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian food in glamourous settings. The London one is located in the Heron Building in the City and as a consequence, is popular with bankers, lawyers etc. The views from the building are superb, though those afraid of heights may ...

    Pizza East

56 Shoreditch High Street, London, United Kingdom
    16 reviews

This is what pizza should be like everywhere. This is a very popular spot but it has plenty of tables. I have not had a bad meal here and I am longing for another one as I write this. I would highly recommend trying the Spicy sausage, mozzarella & tenderstem broccoli. Try this place

    8 Hanway Place, London W1T 1HD
    14 reviews

My favorite restaurant in London, hands down. Every dish is beautifully presented and very tasty. The atmosphere is super hip, with high ceilings, lacquered wood and lighting that makes it feel intimate even when the place is packed. And the cocktails are great as well. Definitely get a reservation, though, as they fill up weeks in advance.

    Busaba Eathai (Wardour Street)

106 Wardour Street, London W1F 0TR, United Kingdom
    13 reviews

The food was okay, I am wondering if I hit it on an off day. The soup I had was bland and definitely needed to be spiced up to be edible

    Brick Lane Beigel Bake

159 Brick Lane, London E2 7 United Kingdom
    11 reviews

After devouring the most delicious salt beef beigel within 5 minutes, a revelation came to me and in that moment I knew there must be some kind of God and the cold winds became warm and joy went into the hearts of all.

    Hawksmoor Seven Dials

11 Langley Street, London, United Kingdom

Get your meat sweats on with the best steaks (melt in your mouth), best cocktails (some lethal) and service (free drinks if you sit next to rude customers!) in town.

    Dishoom Covent Garden

12 Upper St Martin’s Lane, London WC2H 9FB, United Kingdom
    10 reviews

I've always heard that one of the best places to eat Indian food is in London. I'd have to agree. In a city where many originate from or have traveled India, palates are particular and seasoned to ensure this trendy hotspot earns its full house and reservations-a-must status. Everything is delicious, though served in date-sized portions. You'll still walk away ...

    41 Beak Street, London W1F 9SB
    10 reviews

Viennese cicchetti (small plates) are all the rage in London these days because of Polpo. For added chic, have a cocktail in the Campari bar downstairs while you await your table.

    Patisserie Valerie

44 Old Compton St, London W1D 4TY, United Kingdom
    11 reviews

Located near Harrods, same side of the road...a wondeful french Patisserie. Kids of all ages will love the menagerie of Marizpan animals in the showcase along with all the other confections. Brunch here is ALWAYS on my to-do list anytime I find myself in London.

    St John Bread & Wine

94 Commercial St, City of London, Greater London E1 6LZ, United Kingdom
    9 reviews

Original menu without being pretentious. Fabulous foie gras toast for starters followed by melt in your mouth black angus on watercress. Lovely table wine followed by brown bread ice cream. Friendly atmosphere and they have no problem with how long you stay (we sat there all night!). Loved it. Major win for me.

    Viajante -- CLOSED

Town Hall Hotel, Patriot Square, London, Greater London E2 9NF
    8 reviews

Modern gastronomical wonders by wondrous chef Nuno Mendes, in a cavernous East London setting make Viajante perfect for an artful evening's consumption. Be warned, however, this high end restaurant is not where to go if you're on a budget.

    The Elephant House Ltd

21 George IV Bridge, Edinburgh, Midlothian EH1 1EN, United Kingdom

One of my favorite travel moments of all time happened in this café. I stopped here for dinner one evening and the only table that was open was the one where J. K. Rowling wrote the first two Harry Potter books. I took what was once her seat and peered out the window. The view was spectacular! I can definitely ...

    Princi London

135-137 Wardour St, London W1F 0UT, United Kingdom
    10 reviews

The food here is really very good indeed - Italian breads, pastries, quiches, cheeses, cakes... etc. I also like the interior, which ultramodern but warm. Unfortunately it's become a victim of its own success and is always packed. The location - just off Oxford St in Soho - also means that it attracts the tourists.

50 Earlham Street, London WC2H 9LJ, United Kingdom
    12 reviews

Located behind Marks & Spencer just across from the Convent Garden Tube. This restaurante is literally underground. Patrons need to take a freight elevator under the street. Delicous Belgian treats, especially their roast chicken done to perfection and french fries. Best part is that they offer early dining prices making it a great spot if you're on a budget.

    Ping Pong

45 Great Marlborough Street, London W1F 7JL, United Kingdom
    10 reviews

Went to my first Ping Pong while in London and had dim sum for the first time in London. Heard it's doesn't have more of the traditional meals but it is a great first experience into dim sum! Not sure if the London Ping Pongs offer the all you can eat special on Sundays they have in DC but if ...
