    Monmouth Coffee Company

27 Monmouth St, London WC2H 9EU, United Kingdom
    28 reviews

Good coffee near Borough Market. Can be lines on weekends, but worth the wait. It's a chain so you'll see others in London, but I think this is one of the original ones.

    Duck & Waffle

    Heron Tower, 110 Bishopsgate, EC2N 4AY

Go early as it can get v crowded. Great views. Signature dish is tasty if a little contrived. But on a clear day, this is worth it for the views and the mimosas!

Who knew sashimi (one of my favorite foods) could taste *this* good? With a dozen types of dishes on the menu (salads, mini sushi tacos, hot dishes), you'll have taste buds tickled you didn't even know you had.

    Oxo Tower Restaurant

8th Floor, Oxo Tower Wharf, Barge House Street, South Bank, London SE1 9PH, United Kingdom
    29 reviews

More expensive of the two restaurants. The other is the brasserie. Good but not great new British cuisine. But most people come for the view, which is awesome!

Heron Tower, 110 Bishopsgate, London EC2N 4AY, United Kingdom
    9 reviews

Rating for the bar rather than restaurant. This is part of a US restaurant group which combines Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian food in glamourous settings. The London one is located in the Heron Building in the City and as a consequence, is popular with bankers, lawyers etc. The views from the building are superb, though those afraid of heights may ...

Cozy restaurant a few steps away Oxford Circus, serving breakfast all day. Ideal for Sunday Brunch. Vintage decoration and perfect service. No need to queue at midday on Sunday, which is a strong value added in London! Pancakes with berries and cream are amazing!

    Burger and Lobster

    36 Dean Street, W1D 4PS
    2 reviews

Only three menu choices: lobster roll, lobster or burger, 20£ each. Just delicious. At dinner there is usually a waiting list that can take up to 1h, but it's definitely worth it.

    Mon Plaisir

19-21 Monmouth Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom

Been a few years but used to be my go-to place for pre-theatre dining in Covent garden. Oldest and one of the best French restaurants in London. Classy, intimate and warm.

The place to go right now for brunch in Soho. Crowded and hard to get reservations on weekends, but worth the effort.

50 Earlham Street, London WC2H 9LJ, United Kingdom
    12 reviews

An impossible to forget Belgium treat! This restaurant is literally well-regarded for its muscles, fries and beers, though it serves good additional meat, pasta and vegetable dishes. The ambiance is casual, but especially welcoming, particularly the underground space.

Also a great eat. Lower key than the Club Gascon, but the food is still divine, the service is nice, and the wine good value.

55-57 Marylebone High Street, London W1U 5, United Kingdom
    2 reviews

Classic French restaurant that lives up to its rep. But wine is overpriced and service a bit up itself! Also they really need to do something about the aircon after the room fills up. Got unpleasantly hot towards the end (around 22.30).

    The Oak Bistro

6 Lensfield Road, Cambridge, United Kingdom
    1 review

Inauspicious location near a very busy intersection with an awkward internal floor plan, but back garden is tops for al fresco dining. Food is excellent and portions are impressive, but the wine is overpriced. Could do a lot worse though for date nights in Cambridge. God knows I have.

    The Punter Pub Co Ltd

3 Pound Hill, Cambridge, CB3 0AE, United Kingdom
    1 review

Popular and convenient Gastropub near the Backs. Good food, respectable merlot and excellent beer and ale. Often crowded, possibly because it has parking. They have gone up in my estimation considerably for their willingness to get a late party license at short notice. Great customer service!

Terminal 1, Airside, Heathrow Airport, Hounslow, United Kingdom
    2 reviews

It's not great, but it's a perfectly reasonable place to get a bite to eat in Terminal 1 and arguably better than the competition. The salads are excellent and the wait is usually not too bad.
