    Oxo Tower Restaurant

    4
    29 reviews

For beautiful views of the Thames, the Oxo Tower restaurant not only provides this but also serves wonderful food. It's a little pricey but compared to some of the other restaurants on the Southbank that claim to have river views I'd always go for the Oxo. At night it's even better.

    Hakkasan

    4.5
    14 reviews

An underground hidden treasure with a lively & trendy atmosphere. Hakkasan serves good Asian fusion flavors along with an impressive wine selection. The bar serves the best cocktails in town to its selective guests that gather in every evening. The service is standard, though rigid at times. It is possibly one of the 'restaurant landmarks' of London!

    Dinner by Heston Blumenthal

    5
    7 reviews

Mr. Burrell was searching for a great, typically British restaurant recommendation and this is his top choice. "Why? Because it is not ridiculously expensive and all the recipes are taken from ancient English cook books. He also owns my local pub and the food there is wonderfully good value!"

    Gaucho

    4
    8 reviews

Gaucho has pretty amazing food, but it's definitely not for anyone looking to save money. My huge complaint about the place is really that it's on a very steep end of the price spectrum without much in the way of substance. While the food I got was really nice, overall the amount of food I got for the price was ...

If you're looking for the most British of the British, try Rules, near Covent Garden, London's oldest restaurant, having opened its doors back in 1798. Signature dishes at Rules are the classic game dishes and oysters, pies and puddings.

    Betty's Tea Rooms

The Belmont Room (stunning, glass, art deco...) is the perfect place to take afternoon tea - and you MUST order one of their famous Fat Rascals. The best of English comfort food.

    The Cow Pub

    4.5
    5 reviews

This is a great little gastro-pub and I loved my oysters and welks and could easily crave the cow's perfectly cooked steak. We sat downstairs--(upstairs seems less appealing)--and there was a little bit of a wait for a free table, but the food was definitely worth the wait. The Cow is first rate and I will absolutely be back.

Long established Italian Deli, also with a branch in Jenners. I love the sandwiches and the coffee here.

    Harrods Food Hall

the Harrods Food Hall should really be called the Harrods Gourmet Center. From chocolates to sushi to sandwiches to truffled cakes, this place satisfies palettes and food cravings of all kinds. If only I could take the entire space home with me.

    Giraffe

Probably some of the best food I had in London. It was always busy, but is worth the wait. Its great location near the London Eye allows for some great people watching if you sit outside.

    Kettners

two of my favourite things combined - champagne and great quality Neapolitan style pizza. Definitely a great place for an inexpensive meal and a glass of fine champagne. Take a while to people watch at the bar before grabbing a seat for dinner. Try the dough balls (a take on garlic knots but better!). Plus you can get an egg ...

    Browns Restaurant & Bar

Maybe it's a cliche, but the steak and kidney pie here is the best I've ever had. Pair that with an excellent English bitter, and you have a wonderful meal.

    Big Easy

    3.5

Very American style restaurant, checkered table clothes, margaritas, paraphernalia on the walls and an unhealthy menu full of ribs, burgers and chicken wings. Food quality is not good, music is too loud and service generally sucks. Not one i would recommend

    Fishers Bistro

Went to the city location, but same place. Friends that it was only a fish and chips place and were more than surprised to see it was a bit "fancy" but in a good way. Their fish and chips was excellent and my scallops and gnocchi was exceptional. Had an amazing Australian Chardonnay as well which made the meal even ...

    The Grain Store

This Old Town restaurant is on the very attractive Victoria Street. Calling its cuisine Scottish basically means it emphasizes local ingredients which result in favourful dishes. The wine list is fairly short but very reasonably priced. The name is because it is located in a former grain storage building and thus has interesting vaults within.
