    Hostelling International San Francisco (Downtown)

Good! - 79% of guests recommend

When I spent a month backpacking down the East Coast, I stayed almost entirely in Hostelling International hostels (Boston, Manhattan, DC and Virginia Beach). It was only in New Orleans that I didn't. None of those HI properties look as nice as the Hostelling International in downtown San Francisco. This is simply a great property. The building is nice, the ...

I my write about luxury travel but have been known to indulge in a little bit of hostel action, once in a great while. As hostels go, this one is probably the best I have seen in terms of cleanliness. The staff was great and I would not hesitate recommending this to budget travellers.

Downtown Brooklyn is so happening right now, and if you stay at aloft's Brooklyn branch, you'll understand why. The moment I entered the hotel, I was impressed by how hip yet understated it was. At first, the neon-colored d├ęcor feels a bit tacky, but then you see the pool table at one end of the lobby, the w xyz bar ...

Very Good! - 80% of guests recommend

A room at this lodge-themed hotel isn't the only affordable part. There is also a great, cheap buffet and drinks that are much more fairly priced than most other places in Vegas. There are also plenty of free drinks to go around for those who spend time in the casino.

Stayed here on my second night in Solvang. Cute little inn that was clearly mostly decorated with Ikea furniture but cute all the same. The rooms are really big (which I like because I enjoy spreading out all the contents of my luggage all over the room) and the bathrooms are clean as well. Also they have the most adorable ...

    Clearwater Cottages

Although somewhat basic, the cottages are clean and fairly cheap. Captain Al is very helpful and responsive to any needs you might have while visiting. We stayed in the hideaway cottage (3br but be warned - two of the rooms are only connected by a 3/4 wall) and the Orleans (very nice 2br with balcony overlooking the seedy bar across ...

Despite my hesitation to ever use the word "cute," I have to admit this hotel fits the bill. It's perfectly sandwiched between the beach bum town of OB and the beach itself, meaning you can step right outside and go surfing, swimming, or tanning, or stroll along the eclectic promenade filled with street performers, sidewalk artists, or OB's Friday night ...

HI-NY is a backpacker's paradise. It's a very social and fun place. You never run out of things to do here. You can chill out in the hostel's many common rooms, which are huge, full of interesting used books from past travelers, and decorated with bright colors and comfy couches. You can watch TV and play video games on the ...

Are you a procrastinator like me and you're looking for a place to stay during coachella week and still on a budget? Then this is the place to be! The room is surprisingly spacey and the sink is outside of the bathroom (thank god). It's about a 30 minute drive to coachella and few miles away from downtown palms spring. ...

There's nothing glamorous about Comfort Suites, which is somewhat surprising with its Michigan Ave address and its proximity to the river, but I'd definitely recommend it for someone who's planning to spend a few days doing the tourist thing downtown. The suites are spacious, though the layouts are somewhat odd (in one room, the view from the bed is of ...

    The Corral Condominiums

Motifs of cowboys and Indians cover these towering condos, and the lovely light-colored natural wood hand rails and columns give it that extra-rustic feel. Each of these spacious condos is privately owned and has a few personal touches. The massive three bedroom units on the top floor with a fantastic vaulted ceiling and a bedroom loft above the kitchen. When ...

I can really recommend this hostel. It's a great place to stay while you're in NYC! I've stayed there two times for like 3-4 days. It probably only pays off if you share a room with somebody. It has a perfect location, right at Central Park and you just have to walk like 15 minutes to get to Times Square. ...

This is the right place to stay if you're visiting CSU rather than spending time in Fort Collins itself. It's a generic hotel but it's also right across the street from the University, which makes it idea for visiting out of town parents. Probably the most noteworthy amenity is the indoor pool.

Popular place to be in koreatown. Parking is horrendous but I always managed to find a spot after circling around couple of times. The lounge is located inside the hotel. Firstly, you can walk right out the back doors of this Holiday Inn and be staring straight at Vanderbilt's stadium. So if you're going to a Vandy event, this might be where you'd want to stay. The hotel itself is nice. It's close to lots of good restaurants and not far from downtown, granted you have a car to take. ...

    East Village Bed and Coffee

The best part of this hotel is the neighborhood! As a current resident of the East Village, I cannot recommend staying in this area enough. This hotel is close to Tompkins Square Park, St. Marks Place (a street bustling with small shops and restaurants), tons of community gardens, and other great local businesses. The hotel itself is an apartment building ...
