NIce and calm. Not much to do, especially not by night since the nightlife is only available to those who study in Uppsala. Worth a visit if you plan on going to Stockholm since it's only a 40 min trainride.

Description

Dominated by a bustling population of students, Uppsala is the fourth largest city in Sweden, and home to more than 150,000 of her residents. As one might have guessed, the nightlife in this city of students is one of the major draws, with various clubs and bars bustling even in the heart of a bitter Swedish winter. Still, the city does hold it's fair share of cultural attractions, including the ... read more
largest cathedral in all of Scandinavia in the simply named Uppsala cathedral. It's towering spires are a unique site that can be noticed across the city, but the red walls are not, as many of the historic buildings maintain this striking hue. As with most everywhere in Sweden, public transportation options here are both clean and inviting, making it easy to get from point "a" to point "b." The city has it's fair share of natural attractions, of which the strange ancient burial mounds, like the Gamla Uppsala, are sometimes treated as a tomb, but most of the time provide great conditions for sledding. For a great more laid back alternative to bustling Stockholm, Uppsala guarantees history and free-spirited fun to prospective tourists across the globe.
