    Gangplank Marina

I visited the Gangplank while I was interning in DC and took sailing lessons. It's run by the Marine Heritage Foundation and offers beginning sailing lessons to children and adults. You spend hours riding a basic sail boat in the Potomac River, and I had so much fun! It's definitely one of my fondest memories of DC.

Pretty area. If you're here in the spring, magnolia trees are blossoming like crazy right by this memorial.

This is the east coast branch of an excellent gourmet deli. The original Cowgirl creamery is located in the San Francisco Ferry building. The DC store has nearly the same selection, as we'll as a great tasting area. My favorite is the aged Gouda.

The Visitor Center at the U.S. Capitol is the newest, nicest and most modern portion of the Capitol complex. This is not only where tour groups meet to peruse the Capitol grounds, the Center has a literal labyrinth of conference rooms and meeting rooms that are often open to the public. This meeting space is commonly used for press events, ...

Take the elevator up to a breathtaking view of Washington, DC from the Capitol to the monuments to the roofs of museums and government buildings and the Reagan building-a unique view from above. The bells of Congress can be heard from 7-9 pm on Thursday practice. You can see them up close on the ninth floor. The building itself is ...

Gray Line's open top hop on hop off double decker sight seeing bus is a great way to tour and see all of DC's important sites, monuments, and museums. There are different price options and packages and riders have ability to hop on hop off at designated stops to see the historical sites or musuems as they wish. This is ...

This bell is almost hidden, as you cannot see it from the street, hidden behind the Columbus memorial fountain, in front of Union Station. It is supposed to be a copy of the Liberty Bell

Union Station is a busy portal in connecting with DC from all over the country. It's the hub of Amtrak, the local bus service, and the metro. It has tons of restaurants from fast-food shops to sit down restaurants. It is also in walking distance of many of the touriss attractions.

The Crime and Punishment Museum was disappointing for me. I was able to get in for free, luckily, but I expected better quality from one of the paid museums in DC. It's alright, but I wouldn't really recommend it.

The thing I like about this station is that it's location is fabulous. If you want to hit the mall area, it's the place to go. It's right by the back of the White House, and a neighborhood full of food trucks which I love in DC.

Went here for an after party for a film festival. Yes, it's only filled with mannequins, but they're pretty damned amazing. One of the people who was with me swore that one of them was alive. It's the eyes, in particular, that get you.

My boyfriend and I split a margherita pizza and the pesto calzone, so I had half of each. I wish we had each gotten the calzone. The pizza was decent but it just wasn't fantastic. The menu said mozzarella di bufala but if it was that, it wasn't nearly as good as what they serve at Matchbox or 2 Amys. ...
