El Sizzling Chorizo is an absolute treat if you're a fan of meat! Located in the fantastic Ponsonby Central hub along with other great restaurants, cafes and shops, it serves delicious meals cooked on their Argentinian grill right in front of you. Try their 'Parrillada' - it's a bit of everything (steak, lamb, chicken, etc.) or the short ribs and enjoy with a glass of Septima Malbec, and don't pass on the BBQ deep fried potatoes with dijon mustard... they are amazing. Get there early to get a table, it's always super busy and they don't take reservations.
Another Montreal institution! Not to be missed if you happen to be in the Mile End area! Amazing bagels :)
A fantastic place if you are a chocolate lover!
O'Bico is a small Portuguese comfort-food place where you can get good Piri-Piri grilled chicken or baby back ribs. They have tasty sandwiches, chorizo poutine, and other portuguese specialties. More of a lunch place catering to the likes of office workers in the area, but all in all, a good little for a midday pit stop. Cheap and fast, spicy and tasty.
If you happen to be lost on Nuns' Island (as there isn't much to do over there - it's more of a residential neighbourhood) and hungry, I suggest you try Chez Carl. Their lunch menu is quite good with a few favourites like the Chuck Norris pizza. A nice place to have a business lunch if you happen to be in the area. Service is good and cordial.
Delicious mezzes and spanakopitas. Ouzeri is a good Greek restaurant on Le Plateau. It's quite big and can accommodate big groups. A good place for a party and not be worried about laughing too hard. If you're looking for a more intimate setting with less noise, this might not fit the bill.
