There are a few ESKs around town. At this spot, inside the Hole in the Wall (a rock club) on the Drag (what locals call Guadalupe on a small span near UT campus), I've enjoyed the chicken kara age many, many times. It's chunks of chicken thighs fried in a light crispy batter, topped with a spicy-sweet sauce, served atop rice and a handful of mint. It's freaking amazing. The ramen here is also very desirable and unusual (chicken tortilla ramen with avocado, bacon dashi, and a poached egg), but I can't stop, won't stop eating the chicken kara age.
