Beautiful combination of city life and wilderness as this city is atop of the mountainside, by the fjord. Love this city!
Beautiful town that is a car / train ride up from town. Love the snow globe scenery. The train up from flam is $65 usd round trip. Pricey, but worth the views. You can take the train up and hike if back down from the midway point, which will only take you around 2-3 hours.
Gorgeous scenic views from the city along the fjords. Must make a hike here if you're in the area. Breathtaking and most beautiful hike I've ever been on.
Gorgeous town along the fjord in Norway. Quaint, peaceful and quiet.
Beautiful Olympic stadium from the 1994 Olympics. I am a huge Olympics junkie, so walking through the Olympic stadium and museum made me feel as though I was there. Really cool spot to visit if you're in the area.
In the city where voss water comes from, I found a floresent cloud in the sky. Wow.
Gorgeous and quaint little town!
Very impressive ski jump course from the 1994 Olympics. I have a newfound appreciation for ski jumpers and it is so cool to be standing where Olympics skied and he view wow!
Great place to stop if you're in the area. The pizzas are delicious, it opens late and the staff is friendly. I loved the chicken pizza. The restaurant is located inside the quality hotel.
When in Iceland you absolutely must make a trip outside of the city center to do some glacier trekking! Such an incredible experience as you crawl through ice caves and trek to tops of giant glaciers to view some of the most breathtaking views!
Very clean and efficient airport. Easy to get in and out of and helpful staff and plentiful transport into the city!
What a beautiful and scenic city. From above, it looks as though I am looking inside a snow globe in the wintertime. The coastlines are all post card worthy and the architecture and houses are so cute and quaint! A costly city (ranked 2nd most expensive city in the world this year), but Totally worth a visit if you haven't been.
Love this little cafe/bar! Travelers paradise with world maps as wall paper and art of love surrounding the bar. Walk downstairs and you'll find a laundromat! The pastries are so delicious here - try the cookies! Great place to also grab a drink with friends without the hustle and bustle of the clubs and other rowdier bars in the area!
One of my favorite bars in Iceland. It's got a very speakeasy/traveler feel to the ambience, filled with travelers from all over the world and locals alike. The lights are made of globes and there is a huge vintage map of Iceland on the wall. The cocktails are also quite good here. The only downside is that it closes at 1am, which is considerably early for Iceland.
One of the most interesting food experiences I've had in my life and one of the top rated seafood restaurants in all of Iceland. I tried whale sashimi, whale steak,
Seabird and horse meat all in one sitting. I wasn't a big fan of whale meat, but the horse steak was surprisingly delicious. The cod hash was my absolute favorite - must get local Icelandic dish!
Friendly English pub with great cider and love music. Great place to watch a game and meet new friends.
