Margaritas are delicious and generous with the tequila, but the food is not that stellar. The tacos were tiny and took an hour to be prepared, and the manager was less than accommodating. Luckily the margaritas were on par and delicious, so maybe it was an off night.
Delicious homemade Mexican food - the pollo asado tacos were my favorite. Dripping with juices and a hundred flavors in one bite, it was Mexican food at it's finest. Add a pint of Pacifico to wash it all down - and the spicy spinach cheese sauce to dip the chips in - and you've got yourself one sinful California evening.
Lots of shopping and food options, from sit down restaurants to Starbucks to treats like cupcakes and froyo. It's a great central place for a smallish town like San Marcos, and a lovely place to sit outside on a beautiful day like today.
Peterson's Donut Corner is an old-time donut shop with an abundance of baked variety and nostalgia to boot. Select from any type of donut your heart desires, add a bottle of cold creamy milk, and transport yourself to simpler times. It's open 24 hours a day, and the line will be down the street even at 10:30 at night...like it is right now.
In a world of hiking, fishing, boating, horseback riding, and otherwise generally getting in touch with nature, it's refreshing to have something else to do - especially for the kids. The Alpine Slide is a lot of fun when the weather is good and the mountain sun beats strong - seek sanctuary in the shaded holding area and enjoy a refreshment while you wait to ride the chairlift up and toboggan yourself right back down.
This is a great course in Carlsbad - nice and quiet, beautiful grounds, and super friendly staff. George in particular was extremely helpful, friendly, and patient in providing one on one assistance and helping me, a complete novice, perfect my form and hit. I really enjoyed a Sunday afternoon at this course.
Its good old-fashioned country charm at Ramona's Boll Weevil. One of the only ones left around, you can enjoy a hot grilled meal and play 80's quarter video games while you wait. The menu comprises of items like a peanut butter bacon burger, "Our Healthy Salad," or a "Jacado" burger (Jack cheese an avocado), as well as hearty all-beef hot dogs, gooey cheese fries, and classic chicken sandwiches. Take a trip down nostalgia lane!
Beautiful architecture and a classic landmark of Balboa Park - perfect for picnics, meet ups, and photos.
It's a fun sports bar, perfect for Sunday football afternoons. Classic pub grub appetizers and tons of beer variety. I really like the ambience here.
Delicious food, great ambience, and super friendly service right on the bay front in Seaport Village. It's a perfect little place to sit down for dinner on a San Diego summer evening. Ask for a table by the window so you can see the bay and the lights while you eat.
There's a wide variety of Asian cuisine food to try in buffet-style, including hibachi and grilled chicken and beef. The sushi isn't stellar but isn't terrible, and the dessert buffet is pretty impressive. The price is a bit steep, but if you're super hungry it's worth it.
Fun, festive little place to go and ice skate for the free skate session. The price is a bit steep for only one hour, but there's always a groupon or other deal available. Great fun for the whole family - or a group of friends!
I loved the selection of baked treats, coffees and teas, lattes, espressos, and other delectable beverages. The cozy dimness inside reminded me forcibly of every European cafe I've ever dined in, but the outdoor patio will offer customers a chance to be reminded of their location in the warm San Diego sunshine.
Awesome room - super comfortable bed (although the pillows were completely useless - no support, just fluffy and sinkable) and nice big bathroom. I loved the holiday decor but the staff's friendliness was lacking a little. But perfect proximity to Disneyland - so still, I'd stay here again.
