Despite high reviews elsewhere, I was disappointed by what I tried here. I am a chocolate connoisseur, starting from working in a high-end candy shop at 15, and trying chocolates worldwide, from Switzerland to Mexico, and I was excited to try this place, but would not go back.
For a huge variety of menu options, organic, healthy beef, and a hip atmosphere, this is the place to go. Don't expect a monster burger, but expect lots of creative, unusual options.
This is an amazing breakfast place, usually with a line out the door and around the block - but well worth it. Delicious, fresh, and high quality. It's also in a fun part of SF - North Beach, or Little Italy, and just a hop and a skip from China Town.
Exotic ice-cream lovers should definitely check this place out - they've got more flavors than I've ever seen and unique ones at that!
This is one step away from street food - that's where it started - and it's fabulous. I'd classify this as alternative Thai, rather than Chinese food. And healthy ingredients - organics! Heavy on the veggies, but you can add meat if you'd like, and they have vegan options too. The green curry uhmazing. And you can substitute too - I got rice noodles with the green curry and the green curry chicken. I also tried the mushroom soup, but wouldn't order it again - not spicy enough for me - reminded me of cream of mushroom soup (but better!).
This is a great place to grab a game with friends - lots of tables, a jukebox, and a good selection of appetizers and drinks. Lots of fun and great service. Great sweet potato fries.
This is a unique and quality ice cream shop. They have REAL flavors and creative recipes. Feels and tastes like homemade, natural ice cream.
I am a fan of ice cream, and this place rocks! The flavors are all super intense and the ice cream is rich and creamy. They have unique flavors in addition to some excellent renditions of standards. Kindly, they don't charge extra for a waffle cone either! Trying one of their sundaes is next on my list.
This is a great place for a great burger in Santa Cruz. They have a unique menu and no hormone/no antibiotic beef. You can get your burger on a lettuce wrap or a gluten free bun if you desire. I also love the fries here - thin and crispy. I haven't tried the shakes, but they look delicious and it's definitely on my to do list.
This is an excellent Greek restaurant, frequented by locals due to their fabulous cuisine, great service and quality ambiance. The food is Greek but with enough variation to keep it interesting, not just the same "old same old" that you get in most other tavernas. It is just down the street from Syntagma Square, right in the heart of the city, perfect to plan into a day of sightseeing.
This was a little piece of heaven, central to all the attractions of Santa Cruz. Sweet, cozy room, with a Jacuzzi tub - perfect after hiking all day in the Santa Cruz mountains. Excellent service and plenty to eat - cookies, wine and Hors d'oeuvres, and a lovely breakfast spread. The garden setting is peaceful and lets you forget you're close to downtown, until you step out the front door. I love this place - perfect for a weekend getaway!
Delicious wines, beautiful scenery and tons of ambiance - this winery is a must for you visit to Napa.
In my experience, authentic Jewish deli's are few and far between in Cali, and this one is fabulous, with excellent food, a wide array of traditional dishes, and they don't skimp on the quantities. From monster sandwiches to monster deserts, with matzo ball soup, chopped liver, gifilte fish and more in between. You're almost guaranteed to find something new to try, or at least a delicious version of an old favorite.
