Edinburgh is a beautiful city with no shortage of things to do. It's always lively and always interesting with a mixture of history, art and the huge student population gives it a thriving bar scene. The only downside is probably the weather, but come prepared and you'll never be bored....more
Really nice independent chocolate shop. You can get hot chocolate here that is really good and some of the bars have really interesting twists. Try the Dark Chocolate and Ginger Beer if you want something a bit different. Friendly staff as well who are very helpful....more

Old style cinema. Members cards are worth the money if you get the chance to go quite a bit, it is not too pricey otherwise, but the 10% includes movie off at the bar as well. Bar gets packed before a popular showing so get in early.
Lovely cosy little bar. Got a good menu for traditional pub grub and really friendly helpful staff. I recommend the chicken and mushroom pie, but everything is good. We stayed in and congregated on the meadows for the midnight fireworks and countdown. Was worried about being away from the street party and missing out, but the atmosphere was still brilliant and the fireworks were superb.
This looked deceivingly close from my window – the walk to and from the bottom of the hill took longer than getting to the actual peak, but hey ho!
