I studied abroad in Shanghai at Fudan University for about 5 months. Simply put, it was the best 5 months ever. I loved it! Some general tips: 1) Keep your wallet secure and your purse at your side, preferably in front of your body. There will be pick-pocketers in crowded areas. 2) When negotiating to...more
This was a really cool wine bar/restaurant I went to on a semi-group date. The place had a wide selection of interesting wines, although I could not tell you if it was a great selection since I am no wine connoisseur. From what I could tell, it looked pretty impressive. In addition to all the wines, Dr....more
This was in a great location...right on Huaihai road which has a ton of malls and shops. The rooms were really nice for the prices and service was excellent. All spoke perfect English, and when I got a hankering for McDonalds, they sent someone to pick it up for me for no charge, except obviously for tip....more
This place is not nearly as expensive as Party World, but the quality is not that much worse. I had my birthday here and they do a flat rate with their biggest room after 11 pm until closing time in the morning that was very affordable. I believe it was about 600 RMB and the room could comfortably fit 50...more
This is a great place to eat delicious Shanghainese food. On the more expensive side but completely worth it. The service was quick and very accommodating. One of my favorite places to eat authentic Shanghainese dishes. Be sure to get seated on the top floor. The restaurant is built in...more
This place in Shanghai is about 3 massive floors of stalls where you can get clothes tailor made. The selection ranges from leather jackets to pea coats to button-downs and even Halloween costumes! The draw of this place is how cheap you can get the clothes. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars...more
Shanghai has no shortage of KTV/karaoke bars. The best one is by far Party World. The rooms are all super swanky and the food you can buy is delicious. They have the best sound systems out of all the places I'v been to. Obviously quality like this comes with a price, and Party World is definitely one...more
The food here is delicious and this place has AMAZING spring rolls. However, since I was a college student over in Shanghai, I definitely could not afford to go here often. It was one of the more pricey places in the city, but pretty worth it.
One of the nicest lobby's and buildings I have ever seen in Shanghai. Everything just had that ridiculously luxurious feel to it...like something out of a movie. The service was exceptionally quick and efficient.
I'm going to be honest here, I have never been inside the museum itself, but that's not really why tourists come here IMO. What people really come for is for the fake market underneath the museum. This is one of the largest fake markets in Shanghai, with stalls upon stalls of cheap goods,...more
