This place is great! The environment is modern and cozy, servers are friendly and their Ramen is amazing. I'm becoming some sort of ramen addict and I have to say that I will be certainly going back to Kagura.
I had the Hakata style Tonkotsu Ramen and it was delicious. I also loved their egg... it is kind of brownish and the yolk had a nice feel and texture, almost like a gelatine, super yummy.
Make sure to try their green tea creme brulee, is sensational.
Didn't give the place 5 starts because they can still improve service. Service was a bit slow and they brought our ramen and appetizer at the same time. Other than that, everything was great.
Really good italian place hidden in a charming little street away from the neighborhood's frenzy just around the block.
The restaurant is nice and cozy. Servers are professional and super friendly. They will certainly help you pick the best dish for your taste.
For our antipasti we had olives and the special they were serving that day (cheese, prosciutto di parma, home-made bread and something else). I had my old time italian favorite, spaghetti carbonara... and it was amazing.
From the bread they serve to the antipasti, primi e secondi, dolci and wine, everything was really tasteful and beautifully presented. For sure a place I would go again.
This place is amazing. It may be a little tricky to find, but it certainly deserve a shot.
You will park in the dirt by Hwy 1 and you will walk along a dirt path to go down to the beach. There are a few different paths to get to it, follow the surfers to get the easy way down and avoid the cliff hike since this one is more demanding, but also a good option.
The beach is incredibly beautiful and clean. People that go to Panther Beach take really good care of it, so make sure you to the same. Be aware that this is a "no dog" zone, so even if you see dogs around, keep yours home to avoid a $200 fine if a ranger sees you.
Ok, this is hot dog heaven. All hot dog lovers out there, you need to try Spanky's.
I really like "loaded" hot dogs and I was thrilled with their menu. From the good old regular hot dog to a hot dog with potato salad, bacon, pickles and more, you will find great combinations here.
You can also create your own by adding the cool toppings they offer to one of their specials. I had the picnic hot dog, which comes with bbq sauce, potato salad and bacon, but I also added pickles.
The place is clean and organized, and they also have great service.
Wente is a good winery to visit in Livermore. The place is beautiful and not that crowded, so you don't need to rustle to get a good spot outdoors to enjoy your wine. They also have some pretty good snacks, so make sure you get a bottle of wine and some treats to enjoy on their patio.
These guys certainly know what they are doing.
The place is beautiful, service is impeccable and food is really tasty. Definitely a good option for one of your Half Moon Bay explorations.
We got to the restaurant at 2:45 and they were supposed to close at 2:30 (we didn't know that) but one of the chefs said he would take our order and told us to go in.
We tried the wilbur, regular fries, onion rings and the house ice tea. Everything was great and super fresh. Yes, everything is organic and the grass fed beef burgers taste pretty good. From patty to buns, you can taste the freshness and quality of everything.
Another great thing is that the kitchen is open so you can see the whole process of your order. I really trust places that show their kitchens and chefs working, they are certainly reliable. :)
Umami burger is simply amazing. Their patty is the best I've tried so far, and yes, as most people, I've tried a lot of different burgers. Umami's meat is super tasty and cooked to perfection. Their bun is also heavenly... it is super soft and melts in your mouth.
I also tried their thin fries and tempura onion rings and loved both. Everything is tasty and beautifully deep fried, so don't worry about extra greasy things, you won't find that here.
And as if serving yummy burgers was not enough, their service and ambiance is great. And as for prices, their burgers are not on the cheap side but they are so good that it is totally worth it.
A good place to go to get nice coffee, pastries, sandwiches, soups and salads.
They also have huge wooden tables and wi-fi, so if you like to work in coffee shops, this one may be a nice choice, specially if you live in Foster City, where coffee shops are scarce.
Yes this is a very expensive steakhouse, but you will be paying for a gastronomical odyssey, not a simple dinner. Your taste buds will experience flavors and textures never before tasted... and believe me, it will be hard not to like.
When you decide to go to a place like Alexander's, you have to focus on the experience and not on prices. Remember the chefs here make exquisite combinations and deliver high quality food, from appetizer to dessert. And a quick tip, you don't need to try the japanese cut (the VERY expensive stuff) to enjoy their meats, I had the good old fillet mignon and was amazed by it.
And no, before you think something like; "this is the same as other steakhouses but with higher prices," I will have to tell you are wrong. This is different, they have quality stuff that deliver taste, texture and beauty in a plate. The average steakhouse don't have their ingredients, because if they did, they would charge more.
Other than the food, the place is amazing. Service is impeccable. The environment and decor are super stylish and everything works in an orchestrated way. Yes, I guess I can say I loved it!
