Really great little sushi place hidden in a residential neighborhood. Fresh fish, simple/good rolls, good prices, and good service. Bonus: it's not often busy because it's off the main roads.
I actually came across this gelateria twice, completely by accident, on two separate occasions (only after ordering the second time did I realize I'd been to this place 3 years prior). Both times, however, were good. Despite being on the main drag of a touristy town, they manage to serve good gelato at good prices. Perfect for grabbing on your way into the city, for enjoying while you explore!
Had a pretty good experience at the Sunset Marquis. Stayed here during LA Pride this year and, for a somewhat reasonable price, stayed in a comfortable, clean hotel that is walking distance to the best of West Hollywood.
The room itself was pretty standard, though I was in the most basic room. Bed was comfortable, blackout shades were helpful, bathroom had a nice dual shower-head setup that was a pleasant surprise.
The rest of the hotel seems pretty swanky. It has an edgy hollywood past. The restaurant on-premises seemed nice (though I didn't eat there).
A nice, and hidden, surprise is the garden-walk through the private villas/apartments on the grounds. The hotel is a lot bigger than it seems at first glance and, if I ever come back, I'm definitely going to want to try out one of the suites.
Beaux has its uses. Single and ready to mimble... mingle? Get over to Beaux, brave the Fri/Sat night line, and step into the most mediocre show on earth! It's not Boy Bar at the Cafe. It's not (any night) at 440. It's not the regulars at Badlands. No, Beaux is something wholly unique, and entirely one-note. But if the note you're looking for is drunk guys, well, Beaux is the place.
